1  Re: Crafting Appreciation Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: April 25, 2019 06:34:05 PM
My package arrived from Endymion and everything is perfect!  She shared that she felt hers skills were below mine but lady you knocked it out of the ball park!

Look at this adorable mug rug.  First I love the color combo red and aqua and the sewing supply fabric that is one side.  The flip side is pieced and reminds me of a stack of books especially with the background fabric.  I love holding a real book in my hands and reading is a second hobby.

Next up is an adorable pincushion made from sewing spool fabric and a vintage tin jello mold.   The sprinkles are turquoise and red straight pins and what appears to be a red button on top for a cherry.  This is such a freaking cool pin cushion something that I collect.  I love it!

I think this is my favorite.....because I can not crochet.  It is a tape measure and again the colors are spot on.  Just look at this.  Oh my how small the crochet hook had to be.  I am in awe of your talent.   Just look at the detail even on the pull.  Lady I am blown away!

Rating right up there with mind blowing is this awesome necklace.  Silver my favorite.  It is a cute glass bottle filled with buttons, scissors, a spool of thread, pins and what appears to be a charm.  It is adorable the perfect length and look at how Endymion finishes the top..... teeny tiny crochet. Oh dear my eyes hurt just thinking about someone being able to do this!

For finishing up the package she bought these cute sewing themed lapel pins!

Endymion I am so happy we were partners.   Such a wonderful well thought out and crafted package!  Thank you so much for everything!

So here is something I made yesterday for my outside deck!  Plans are to make a few more and use up some of my macrame cord. I spent 2 days cleaning repotting and rearranging my plants. I think our weather has finally settled a bit and should have no more freezes.

Close up of the vintage ceramic owl beads.

Also found my mason art drill bit and got his hung

Whoop whoop my package of color arrived from bugaboo1 and wow did it pack a punch!  Recently we swapped and I fell in love with she sent especially the handmade soap and lip balm.  Well she delivered again with a bar of soap, chocolate lip balm and 2 yes 2 aqua crocheted wash rags. A bit of heaven!

I also got an awesome assortment of crafting supplies.  These came in both red and aqua my 2 requested colors!  Buttons, floss, a cute tape measure, take along scissors, 3 fat quarters and crafting tape.

I am headed to the casino on Sunday and sure hope this super cool beaded bracelet brings me luck since this will be worn that day!  I love it and just look at how small these beads are!

If you go back and look at the backdrop for my photos you will see that it is a table runner.  Bugaboo1 said she is new at weaving but can you believe that?  Not me just look at this masterpiece. Oh my as I sat and ate pizza I just kept lookking at it and thinking perfection.  How she made it to be the perfect size and in such a short time frame!  Blown away!  Such tiny thread!

And to close out my package a cute chalkboard t cup and such a cute handmade cats!

Thanks for such a wonderful well thought out and aqua and red package of things that really brightened my day and are making me feel so good!

6  Re: Mug Rug and Mug Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by quaggy on: February 16, 2019 03:05:30 PM
Woo hoo I get to start the gallery with a wonderful well thought out package from my partner and Amfkinney.  Talk about getting spoiled!  I did!  The package arrived yesterday and I forgot about it until today when I was at a seminar out of town for work!  It was hard to concentrate as all I could think about was getting home and ripping into the box!

First up amfkinney chose the color red. One of my favorites to create a truly lovely crocheted mug rug.  She did not stop here she also made a mug wrap to match and a small ceramic dish for snacks.  Just look at this wonderful set!

For drinks she wowed  me again with several!  2 of cocoa.... a favotite drink.  Mint and chocolate and chocolate supreme!  My mouth is watering!  She also sent a brick of arabica coffee. It is made in Italy.....so ready to try this tomorrow morning!  The cocoa later tonight!

A snack of dark Belgian chocolate along with some cute butterfly buttons.  I think these will be used on a spring prayer flag!

And too funny not to share!  I was in another swap and was sent some soap and lip balm that a member on this site had made!  I loved it and told my partner how much and that I might need to do a personal swap for more.  She replied back sharing that her and her best friend often get together to make this and she was up for a personal swap if needed.  So who should I get as my partner for this swap her best friend so without further ado I was spoiled once again.

Milk chocolate lip balm coconut lemongrass lip balm and lavender lotion bar!  Spa day once again. Thanks!

And as if all these things were not enough  amfkinney who stalked me so well knew of my love for dragonflies!  She shared when she spotted this necklace she could not resist!  It is gorgeous and will be one of my favorites...what a wonderful heart my partner has!

Lady I know you are new to this site!  One question?  Where have you been? Lol. So happy to have had you as a partner and hoping you will love what I send your way too!

7  My heart spools for you! in Valentine's Day by quaggy on: February 14, 2019 04:50:23 AM
So I am attempting to create from my stash and what a perfect time to destash some of my wooden thread spools.  I have have some of these for over 25 years. Lol.  So when I joined the altered heart swap got 2 partners each with different color choices I decided the perfect way to destash.  So here are both one aqua one purple.  The heart is about 12 inches in size and I used the spools full of thread around the outer edge filled in the gaps with empty spools just some e6000.  Of course I painted each wood  heart base front and back first. After all the spools were glued down I added buttons, charms, fabric yo-you and other doo dads.  These were glued as well.  The perfect bow was ribbon and rick-rack!

Awe thanks for all the compliments on the spool heart.   Trying to use things I have been hoarding for years!

I have recieved from both of my partners but feeling kinda crappy so slow getting photos posted so please forgive me!

I think both kwality and what the puck must have been pming each other you will see what I mean by the end of the post!

I love both altered hearts:  both partners went with aqua and red. Woo hoo!

Here is the altered heart from kwality:  a box that she covered in tape,  aqua red hearts!  On the inside there is a textured paper backdrop with jute glued to it on two sides to give demension and then a cute puffy red yarn heart....it even sparkles....did you make the heart it is so cute?  And then. The definition of heart!   I adore this shadow box!

Kwality also send a cute owl (so me). Kitchen towel

And this cute card that I am going to frame!

And an extra....felt dollies....these are super cute!

Thank you so much!!!!

Whatthepuck sent me a super cool painted heart with metal medallions glued on.  Again my favorite color combo aqua and red.  I love how this looks and may be some of those marbling paints I picked up but have yet to try!  Do tell.....it is super shiny.... does the paint dry this way or did you seal it?

Now here is the pming each other part..... I have them sitting on my den tv console for this photo but have plans to buy a small shelf for the wall which will be the home for both just like in this photo!

Thank you both for such varied altered hearts that just ended up going together to creat one fantastic piece of art for my wall!

So a little late posting. So sorry!  These arrived a few days ago from Maximus the former Munltstmper and just look at the detail. Unsure how you see so well to do this!  They are super!

The drawn hearts.  Yes drawn this is no sticker is named

A heart beats within each of us !  For my heart theme super cool!

Funky checkers.....my favorite color and again all this is drawn except for the checker pieces.  Can you believe it?   It also reminds me of a quilt top!

This one was for my board game theme..... I love it!

And my third is called lady on the moon!   It is for my Halloween theme!  Loving her hair!

All 3 together and the cool photo paper she placed them between to mail.

Thank you so much they are all wonderful!
