Man, everyone's projects are coming out so awesome! I feel like a slackster because I haven't even finished anything yet. Sad

But you can complete both the May and the June textbook challenge (for example), as long as you turn in different projects for each challenge, correct?
YES Grin

Kiss Smeddley!

Yeah that was pretty much what I was asking, sorry for the confusion. >.< It's been like 100 degrees here the last couple days LOL.

Yes, Horror! I can totally think of something Doctor Who related for that!! hehehehehehehehhehe

I wasn't able to participate much for May, due to extensive heat (nearly 95-100) the last few days ugh! Hoping to be able to get a bit more done this month.

Pinkleo, I know we are able to do the monthly challenges anytime. But are we able to submit multiples of each month at a time? IE: turn in the textbook for both may & june ?(I know we can't do more than one for each individual challenge)

Project Name: Exterminate Skirt
Ninja: Wyked - Geekdom: Doctor Who
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques used, materials using, plan of action, expected timeline, etc.)

I have never crocheted any clothing before, and as most crafters do have PLENTY of yarn. Smiley I had a great idea for a Dalek-inspired skirt so this is going to be my first research project.
The Daleks are one of the Doctors most feared enemy, as they are difficult to kill unless you kill them all.
No estimated timeline as of yet. I plan to research various skirt patterns available to get an idea of the how-to, and try to write my own pattern from there. I do have some sketches of panels and thought of possibly using a chevron pattern to connect them and form a skirt. I also have some elastic to use, which will make the fitting a little easier!

Hope you have enough information for my proposal, there will be a lot of firsts in the making of this project so I expect a ton of frogging to be had! Cheesy

Nearly done the base of my "Blue" challenge, using the entrelac pattern. Man this one was a bit tricky to start, but not so bad once you get used to it! Can't wait to see how it comes out once the base of my project is finished. Cheesy

I just watched the Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon was wearing this shirt! Awesome job on it!

I'm feeling something TARDIS-y for the Red/Blue challenge might be in order....

I was thinking the same, but my idea will be practical and useful as well. Cheesy

Because I don't want everyone super-stressed this summer, I am letting players turn in the Monthly Challenges* any time during the games.  So get ready to grab that WIP and make it a FO....You can do it!

* I figured that the Battles & not-so-secret Alerts would fulfill all the limited-time crafting that we need this summer. Cool

Hmm, this information may prove useful.

For Research Projects, you just propose what you are attempting.  (This is so we can assure that it took you at least 3 weeks to complete and to cheer you on as you do your research.)  You can propose basically anything as a Research Project, the only requirement is that it takes you at least 3 weeks to complete (no categories that it must fit into).  I want to encourage and reward those who take on long term projects (with more pointage given, 100 points).  Another point on Research Projects, you can only propose one at a time.  Once you finish one project, you can propose another.

About Research Crafting Time Guideline: There is no hard and fast rule on how many hours a project should take, because speed and difficulty levels are too subjective.  What I am really looking for is a project that will be a personal challenge to you.

What if you finish a project earlier than expected?  Projects that do not take the allotted time of crafting will not be counted as complete; keep that in mind when you post your completed projects.  If you finish your project earlier than expected, then craft an additional item(s) that correspond with your project.  Add notes on how you finished earlier than expected and details about your additional crafting in your Completed Project post.

This sounds perfect for a skirt I was thinking about. It is not only something that would take me awhile, but something I've never done before (clothing with crochet that is). Awesome explanation, Thank you!
