11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Cheese-kun! Amigurumi (Code Geass/Pizza Hut Japan) on: July 26, 2007 08:55:48 PM
Ainadaliel - Domokun!  You know, now that you mention it, I'm surprised I haven't seen one yet!  Definitely on my must-make list now.

Aelita - Thanks!  Code Geass is currently airing in Japan (the final two episodes are scheduled for end of this month), but it has recently been licensed for USA by Bandai? I think.. so I would expect it here in the USA maybe next year?  I don't really know how long they take.

Re: Pocky -- it can often be found at Asiang grocery stores, but occasionally I find it in the food aisle in Safeway/Raleys that has the Asian & Hispanic import goods.

Yarnisfun - totally lol.

MrsGraves - It's a project we've been working on at the Glitter forums - we're challenging ourselves to create and finish 50 crafty projects this year, but some people have set other # goals (for example, 25 or 30, and I'm not sure if anyone has set a goal higher than 50).

lilbandade - awesome!  Please share finished pictures here if you make one!  Smiley

KittyCreates - same!  When I saw this in the anime, I googled to see if it had a name and that's when I found out it was an actual mascot at Pizza Hut... so silly, but too cute!

redfuzzy - yeah, he is adorable!  On one of the Pizza Hut websites, I saw there are other cheesy characters (like a tiny one!).  Please post pictures when you finish making one!

WIPs - thanks! He's not very well known - he seems to be a mascot for Pizza Hut in Japan, but only for kids?  I only see him in the Kids section of their website.  I found out about him from watching the anime series, Code Geass.  (Which, by the way, is now licensed for USA, so perhaps Cheese-kun will gain more popularity now!)

15  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Amigurumi Makers AND EVERYONE SHOULD READ!!!! on: July 25, 2007 12:07:11 AM
I meant to post this before, but it's never too late.

While bored one day, I decided to google my name and actually came across this website:

She had listed my Amigurumi Penguin -- which I posted the pattern for free here on Craftster.  While she did give me credit (saying I was the designer), I never gave permission and never knew that this person was selling things made from my pattern.  She even gave her creations original names.  And is selling them for quite a bit, profiting from the patterns of other people.  I sent her an e-mail, upon which she took down the penguin she was selling.  I'm sure that these patterns are all for personal use only, despite her giving credit to designers.  Amigurumi designers, you might want to check her page if she is selling any of your work as well.
16  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Why do birds (& hedwig), suddenly appear.. on: July 24, 2007 11:54:41 PM
indeliblechange's birds were created after she saw the ones I made (she credits me as sharmelon, from livejournal):

I'm not sure if miss_joy was also using mine for reference?

For those of you interested in the pattern, it is actually available in the book Kooky Crochet: 30 Remarkably Wacky Projects by Linda Kopp.. it was just released this summer.

17  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Cheese-kun! Amigurumi (Code Geass/Pizza Hut Japan) on: July 24, 2007 11:46:21 PM

This is something I've been meaning to do -- and I did it!  I crocheted Cheese-kun (チーズくん) as a gigantic amigurumi!  He is smaller than 'life-size' (as compared to the huggable plush that C.C. has), but he is good huggable size for me!  For those who don't know, Cheese-kun is a mascot for Pizza Hut in Japan, and has been seen numerous times in the anime, Code Geass - as a prize that C.C. has won from eating a lot of pizza.  ^o^  My amigurumi plush Cheese-kun measures approximately 15" tall, and 9" wide.

Screen-caps from the anime:

(This is project #38 of 50 crafty projects in 2007.)

I also am sharing the crochet pattern for free!  It can be downloaded here:
Please right-click and Save as... to your computer.

For those who make one - I would love to see your finished projects!
18  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Kirsten Dunst Pithy hat knitalong anyone? on: June 12, 2007 02:05:14 PM
I found a pattern for a modified pithy hat here:

And also modified it some more, by alternating k8p1 with an 8-stitch cable.  I also made this about 7" so it would fit me better.  I love how this one turned out much better than the purple one I made.

These are the cutest flowers I've ever seen. Smiley
20  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Kirsten Dunst Pithy hat knitalong anyone? on: June 11, 2007 11:56:45 AM

I knit one using the Elizabeth town pattern yesterday~ using Cascade 220 yarn in violet.  I don't quite like how it fits on my head.. I think I should've added more cast on stitches so it would be a looser/slouchier fit... but oh well.  It was a fun project to work on. Smiley
