11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Marilyn embroidery on: April 16, 2012 08:10:14 PM
I embroidered this lovely lady to donate to my local arts center, who is having a fun 50s themed benefit. My embroidery will be an item in their silent auction. It took me forever so i hope it fetches a good price! I had a little problem with the fabric puckering a bit in one spot, and now when i look at this that is ALL i notice. Grrrrrrr! But maybe thats just me being anal, hopefully not many people will notice....

Oh and i got the stencil image from a google search for Marilyn Monroe.

thanks for looking!
12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Dr Strangelove embroidery (pic pudgy) on: March 02, 2012 07:25:55 AM
Hiya! I made this Dr Strangelove embroidery for one of my best friends birthday gift. (she hasnt received it yet, so dont tell her!) Since its her favorite movie, she mentioned before that she would like a Dr Strangelove embroidery based on the movie poster, but without the text. So, i did it! This one almost killed me though! I thought those damn planes were going to be the death of me...  And i also had a problem with the disappearing ink pen i used- ummm, it didnt disappear. Every time i sprayed it with water, the ink would go away at first but then reappear and spread. I was freaking out! I eventually got it all out......i think. Anyhow i am pretty happy with the end result. I hope she will be too.

And here is the poster i was working off of-

Thanks for checking out my work!
13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / 3 new ones on: February 13, 2012 07:51:29 PM
I have been cranking out embroideries like crazy in the past couple weeks! Between trying to restock my shops, and crafting for swaps, it think my fingers may fall off! Anyhow here are just a few of the ones i have finished within the past couple weeks-

I love this one. Catching fireflies in my grandparents yard during the summer is one of my favorite memories

Here's a jelly i made for an OWS swap-

And this one was made by request. I really like how the bacon came out, lots of texture

Thanks for looking! Hope you like!
14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Nooooo! My disappearing ink wont disappear! on: February 13, 2012 07:15:14 AM
Has anyone else had this problem? I used a water soluble ink pen, on one of my embroideries (that i have spent MANY hours on now) and it wont come off! when i put water on it, the blue ink disappears at first but but comes back later even worse. It just keeps spreading! I dont know what to do, i am scared to ruin the piece. Anyone have this happen before? Help!

When I was stitching this on a plane, an older gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and said, "I really like your artwork". I figured he probably hadn't seen what it actually said, but then he followed it up with, "I know a lot of people like that" Haha! I think everybody knows a squirrely motherfucker or two

18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Enthusiastic about tea! on: August 11, 2011 05:46:54 AM
Heres my newest embroidery. Yay for tea!
This was a bit different for me because i am always hesitant to use fill stitches. I didnt know where/how to start with them. Well, i did it, and it took me ages. I will have to keep practicing with it because it doesnt look nearly as nice as all the lovely fill work i have seen done by all the super talented crafters on here. Oh well, its a start!

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Icky Beach cross stitch on: June 14, 2011 01:38:03 PM
This took me quite a while to make, and the whole time i was wondering if anyone else would appreciate it. Ha ha! That tends to happen a lot when i am executing of of my ridiculous ideas for needlework....... Anyhow, this was a kit that i altered to please my perverted mind. Hope you like.
