1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Easiest dog bed pattern in the world on: September 14, 2008 07:24:03 PM
I plan on getting a dog soon so i figured id make a pet bed to match the house colors. What do you think? The best part yet It only cost me 9 dollars! and there was enough fabric to make TWO beds!

the pillow is reversible, a cool side and a warm fuzzy side!

and the tutorial!

I actually made it from a baby crib bumper, some stuffing and a baby blanket, and some extra scrap fabric(that wont be visible) that gave me enough material to make TWO dog beds and still have some fabric left over for doggy toys

1. I cut the crib bumper into  four pieces,

2. Then I cut the entry hole out so the doggy can walk in and out of it easier.

3. (the walls of the puppy bed where already stitched together so all I had to do is cut out a circle of scrap fabric and stitch it into the same stitch the bed bumper was at! totally invisible to see the fabric and since i used a feltish material i didnt have to worry about having to fold it over or worry about it fraying.

4. Then with the left over bed bumper fabric I cut out a circle and with the blanket fabric cut out anothor one and stitched them together to form the beds pillow!

ps: I havnt finished making the second one thats why theres only a photo of one bed, but it will end up looking exactly the same.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Remake of a classic, My very own Juicy Jr!(added better photo) on: September 08, 2008 04:19:00 PM
My brother saw a photo of us from when we were little and commented on the pineapple plushie in the photo, He doesnt remmeber him, But I DO! It was my brothers favorite stuffy So for his upcoming birthday I decided to make him one. The original was made from the Del Monte company and was tagged with the name Juicy  so here is my own little creation, Juicy Jr!

(above is the original)

Juicy Jr. was made from green felt, and a really cute swirly makeup/handbag. And a pair of googly eyes. It could've taken about a day to make but Im slow at finishing projects.
I know the colors are off the green felt is abit darker, and hes abit yellower then the original, hes also abit smaller in size, there isnt any stitching on the "pineapple" part except for some I attempted to add but its so faint you can hardly see it at all! Nevermind trying to take a photo of it with my webcam.
I plan to add Bigger better photos of him once I find my camera! I suspect my daughter hid it. haha >< Please tell me what you think!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Usagi yojimbo bunny doll (Image heavy) on: January 19, 2008 10:55:10 AM
For Christmas I made my husband this doll, its meant to look like a character from a comic he likes to read.

I only gave him one eyebrow because in the pictures of him ive seen he seems to allways be raising one eyebrow, no mouth cause well i never see that eather
Im proud of his little hakama pants after days of trying to figure out how to properly tie the bow i gave up and just made it a regular bow.

I made him from a stuffed animal seal, his eyes are from baby shoes, extra fabric from my husbands wedding outfit , a belt I never used, and a few other misc. parts. Hes got wires throughout his whole body so hes possable, though ill have to redo it if I want him to be able to stand up on just one foot Sad
Also you cant tell in the pictures but hes got little thumbs to so in the future i can make him alittle sword and i can bend his lil fingers around it..-if i ever make them-

heres what the comic version of him looks like

Heres the toy version of Usagi that i was trying to match, with a few minor changes due to me just being overly picky

Over all im rather disapointed in the way he turned out, and even more disapointed in my husbands reaction to him. I guess my expectations are to high.

6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / purple peacock and mommy minnie on: November 11, 2007 08:02:19 AM
I had bought my little Nessy a minnie mouse costume but she refused to wear the ears so figured i'd be minnie mouse this year.
I made a minnie mouse dress from a polkadot dress I found at a discount store, made some bloomers and redid the mouse ears I had already (they had sequins and didnt exactly match anything)

Sadly thats the only photo i have Sad sorry

I didnt realize there was even a halloween section so I posted my daughters halloween costume that I made  under the wrong catagory  she was a purple peacock, https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205876.0

Heres the pumpkins we had out, -mommy and baby- my husband made the baby, i made the mommy
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / purple peacock on: November 03, 2007 07:25:47 PM
I know halloween has passed but I love this costume to much to not show it. After seeing a pecock costume online for 20some dollares
http://www.frankandstacy.net/assets/images/Oct_06_Halloween_Costume_Small.jpg I decided to make my own version and save money.. the feathers didnt come out as large as I had hoped but well I wasnt about to start over! haha heres the results
PS: You cant tell in the photo but the feathers can actually be raised and lowered. I added a bra hook to the back of the hood which attachs to the feathers to keep them up.

(Im most proud of the little feet)

(this is all the fabric I used, I purchased it all from value village cost me roughly 6 dollars)

I didnt realize until -a day- before halloween that I had forgotten to add the little crown of feathers peacocks have upon there head.
I also had to relocate the feathers a couple times because they were making my little nessy offbalance when she wore the costume making it almost impossible for her to walk in it.
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Plastic Gerber babyfood tops on: October 05, 2007 02:29:47 AM
I've managed to save over 30 Gerber baby food plastic container tops and dont have the heart to throw them away...

I know theres gotta be some neat little item out there, I just have yet to think of it. Any ideas?

I do still have some of the bottoms to them, but not nearly as many as I do the tops.

Theyre small clear rectangle tops with the Gerber on it.
Sry hard to see in this photo
