1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Animal hats! Unicorn, Giraffe, and Cal Bear (pic heavy) on: March 15, 2010 04:39:36 PM
I think you will have to make more hats for your Etsy store! I really love the unicorn one, but was too late to buy it!
Would also love to see a black/brown bear hat, or a pink/white kitty hat! Smiley

Thank you so much, yeah I am slowly but surely getting better at it over time, has taken lots of practice though! Smiley

Thank you all so much!
Yeah the dark chocolate went really well with the pistachios.

As far as injecting them, I didn't make any holes or anything, the filling was rather runny, so when I put the syringe in the cupcake I just used a little force to push the filling in. Only a tiny little amount came back out the small hole made. The amount that ended up inside was the perfect amount, not too soggy. About 5mls per cupcake!

I made these cupcakes recently for a friends high tea party!

Blueberry Lemon Cupcakes, with Lemon Curd filling, and Cream Cheese Frosting

Dark Chocolate Pistachio Cupcakes, with Dark Chocolate Ganache filling, and Ganache Butter Cream Frosting

I used a 10ml syringe (a sterile one from work) to inject the filling.

I used a Wilton piping tip for the Cream Cheese Frosting....sorry I can't tell you which one, I'm house sitting and I can't for the life of me remember which one I used at home!

The recipe for the Blueberry Lemon Cupcakes is on my blog! http://www.apparentlyjessy.blogspot.com

Yeah, they were eaten! I ate a couple, and then sent the rest with my mother to her work. She was more proud of them than I was!!

Awww, Thank you all for the kind comments, there were hard to eat, but luckily they were yummy too, so it couldn't be helped!

 Cheesy Thank you!
10  COOKING / Dessert / More Easter Cupcakes! on: April 15, 2009 06:17:17 PM
I made these cupcakes for Easter this year, and I am just so gosh darn proud of them I had to share! I made a batch of Magnolia vanilla cupcakes, with a tiny dash of almond essence.
The toppers were inspired by a vintage Easter card, I printed the rabbit, and traced it, coloured them in, then put cardboard backing on them, they are held with a toothpick.
The icing was really easy, just green butter cream frosting, with green sugar crystals. I then piped butter cream grass and added my miniature fondant flowers, and chocolate speckled eggs. The fondant flowers did take a long time to make.
