1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / bleach stencil on a comforter? on: July 12, 2011 11:38:46 AM
I need help pimping out my old brown comforter for college

I'm thinking of bleach-stenciling something on it, but it still seems boring

how easy would it be to dye it? or maybe some sort of acid-wash?
keep in mind it's pretty big (barely fits in my washing machine)

ideas please c:

I spent months trying to make a backpack exactly like that.
Kudos on being able to figure it out, haha
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / healthy-ish treats for Halloweeners? on: October 27, 2009 02:22:39 PM
I need ideas for a somewhat healthy, non-messy treat to hand out on Halloween.
So, obviously, something somewhat durable- no icing or anything.

When I say healthy, I don't mean HEALTHY healthy, just something that won't make your teeth fall out and you have a seizure on the first bite. Basically, I don't want the ingredient list to have nothing but flour, sugar, oil, butter, and eggs. For example, sweetened with applesauce and stuff, not just crap poured into a bowl and cooked.

So maybe, some sort of cookie, bar, or candy? Or something not sweet? Or maybe something sweet and salty- like peanut butter pretzels?

Any ideas?

I have a cat that looks identical to yours that talks!
Congrats on making it looks exactly like the one you would buy. xD
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Book recommendations? on: September 23, 2009 02:10:21 PM
I'm wondering what some of your favorite art books are?
Specifically about painting with acrylics, but, lets just have a general craft books thread. Know of any good ones?

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Make Your Own Worm Hotel - Home Composting Tutorial! on: August 20, 2009 09:32:49 AM
I feel like I wouldn't have enough food to justify having one...
its just my dad and I, and we're not the fresh-est eaters in the world.

Most of what I put in my (outdoor) compost pile is just waste from the garden; tomatoes that didn't make it, dead plants, etc.

I'm not quite sure what could go in a bin like this... would teabags be any good? Or coffee grounds?

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: mason jar lanterns on: August 06, 2009 07:14:34 PM
Looks cute, but I'm wondering, whats in them?

Cause I don't see any wires or anything, but it would be really hard to light all those if they were candles.
