1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Grow old with me! on: February 02, 2011 02:19:48 PM
Here is my entry!
Ive been doing these collage's for a while now and this is my Valentine's one. It is made on a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of watercolor paper. I first use a wash of paint for the background color then glue down pictures and patterns from old magazines (I just love replacing heads with animal ones lol) Then I alter the images with markers, pens, pencils, and whatever else I can find. I seal in everything with a coat of mod podge. The quote is by Robert Browning.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Christmas purse! on: December 19, 2010 06:31:35 PM
So a few years ago I found craftster while searching for free purse patterns. Fast forward to now, and I'm a lover of all that is craftster! I found the courage to make things for myself, and then to make things for others through craft swaps. Which in the end gave me the courage to sell my other work. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who so thoughtful share their creations on craftster everyday.  Cheesy
So with that being said I wanted to share my latest purse. Its a gift for my mother-in-law. I make the handles out of nice leather belts I find at goodwill.

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / gift for my sister on: September 09, 2010 08:02:21 AM
Just wanted to share my latest collage. I made if for my sister and her husband. I used cut up magazines, a glue stick and a bunch of markers. The style of collage I learned from Teesha Moore's videos on you tube. I just love them!! The quote is not my own, my sister found it online. Im not even sure I know what it means! Cheesy

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / So this is fun. . on: August 13, 2010 07:15:59 PM
A lot of talk has been going around about the Teesha Moore Journals. I also enjoyed making those cool pillows. I also watched her other videos and Ive been having a blast making these collage pages.

So I just wanted to share a few I made. One was for a swap and the other is a picture before I added the lettering.
I decided to make each one a separate piece instead of a journal. They are each about the size of a standard sheet of paper.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My first inchies on: April 20, 2010 12:19:36 PM
Hey all,
I just wanted to share my first inchies. They were for the alphabet inchie swap I was in.

Here is a close up of a few. Most of them are all painted backrounds. My favorite one is the E for Egg. Its on a painted backround with a nest made out of thread and three little seed beads for eggs.

Thanks for looking.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Butterfly punch inche swap? on: February 12, 2010 08:05:13 AM
So I am in love with inches. I have also been wanting enough that I can frame to hang on my wall. I have this thing that I will only hang original artwork or photos on my wall. It would mean a lot to me to have a collaboration piece from my favorite website Craftster. I thought it might be fun to use punch like the butterfly one instead of the square inches. It wouldn't have to be that punch, it could be any one. I am inspired be these two lovely projects.
Anyways I am new at swaps so I cant be in charge of it but I just thought I would throw it out there.
7  COOKING / Dessert / daughters first birthday cake. on: January 13, 2010 05:30:44 PM
I just wanted to share the cake I made for my daughters first birthday party. My mom started a tradition with us kids that our first birthday cake always had to be a show stopper. So I'm trying to carry on that tradition. I'm really happy with how it turned out. There were a couple of times that I almost scraped the whole thing Wink

It was a penguin theme party.

The penguins are made with Marshmellow Fondant. It probably would have been easier with regular fondant. The fishing pond is blue jello.

My hubby suggested I make a fire barrel for the penguins to stand around and we put the candle in the middle of it.

And of course an action shot.
 Thanks for looking,
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Elegant wedding cupcakes, (my first post) on: October 25, 2009 12:56:04 PM
Hello all,
This is my first post. I just wanted to show off some wedding cupcakes I did for my sisters wedding. I had never done any sort of wedding cakes before and I have no piping skills. Craftster has been so inspiring to me for the last year, and I just wanted to encourage all the other DIY wedding craftsters. If I can do this you can.

I made three different flavors of cake and each had its own decoration but they were all white. White pearls for the lemon cake, white chocolate shapes for the chocolate cake and shredded coconut for the coconut cakes.

This is the cake topper. I had no idea how to pipe anything so I made white chocolate planks and stuck them to the side of the cake.

The beautiful pictures were taken by my brother-in-laws Aunt, Diane Kinnell.  http://dianekinnell.instaproofs.com/
I'll admit, her pictures and the low lighting make my cupcakes look nicer then they really were. Wink
