21  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Mmmmmm.....stuffed kangaroo on: July 30, 2010 06:10:33 PM
Even after many dozens of stuffed mosters, monkeys, and crochet creatures of various sorts I have yet to sew a head, mouth, or pair of eyes on "right."  It just gives them personality in MHO.  I love your kangaroo and I'm sure your recipient will too!

WOW!  I saw that movie last weekend and all I could think about was how awesome it would be to crochet my own little minion army!  That is great!
23  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Acorn Bag (Alternate Top Pattern Included) on: July 18, 2010 05:54:10 PM
That turned out amazing!  I tried that pattern once (for a friend who was taking up sock knitting) but couldn't get the gauge right on the lid to prevent it from ruffling-up (so I put the lid on the bottom and turned it into a strawberry hat for my niece).  I think I may have to give it another go with your lid alternative!  Thanks for the pattern!

That is awesome!  Which method did you use to make your plarn
28  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Spider Pig Pony on: October 21, 2009 12:03:21 PM
So the following creature was born a little over a year ago and has taken on quite a little personality (including being the mascot for my running group)...He combines my fascination with Spider Pig from the Simpsons Movie and my boyfriend's running joke about his fascination with all things pony.  He is 50% Pig (head and ears), 50% Pony (maine, body and tail), and 50% Spider (legs).  He enjoys flying, running, and beer.

Here are a few photos of my little buddy:

He is adorable!  Be careful, though, making amigurumi characters can be addictive...I keep almost buying that book
