91  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: World Of Warcraft Gnome on: December 24, 2008 07:27:54 PM
My dh turned me into a WoW nerd.

Your gnome looks great!

What they wear depends on what class and level they are.  A basic robe and cape would work.
92  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Appliqued and Embroidered Kitchen Towels on: December 23, 2008 07:34:19 PM
I made these for several people on my list. (Friends, mom Mother in Law)  The towels are flour sack towels that I got at Target  6 for $5.99.  The trees are a lovely green corduroy left over from making our stockings a few years ago.  I appliqued them the hand embroidered the person's last name.  I'm just starting to embroider, so it's not perfect, but I'm pleased with the over all effect.

This is a onesie I did for a friend's baby who is a few weeks older than my daughter.  I also did one for another friedn's kid, but I gave it away before I remembered to take a pic.  That one had a pink ice cream scoop on a brown cone appliqued then I hand embroidered the word "sweet" under it.

and the back

94  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Adding long sleeves to onesies on: December 19, 2008 09:27:59 PM
I know I saw somewhere here where someone had added long sleves to a onesie they had embellished.

I want to do that and wondered exactly how I would go about it.  I'm using cotton to match an applique I did on the onesie.  Should I sew it to the end of the short sleeve at the sleeve's hem or to the seam allowance of the shoulder?

How did you determine how wide and long the sleeve should be?

I found suet at Walmart.  I bet you could find it at pet stores too.

I have to go get more.  I got the 6 inch balls too and 3 cakes of suet didn't even fill one.  Thankfully they were cheap ($.98)

I just bought the stuff to make 2 of these.  I'll post a pic when I'm done.

What size vine ball did you use.  I had trouble deciding between the 4 inch and the 6 inch.  I went with the 6 inch, but may have to go get more suet.
97  COOKING / Dessert / Re: "Buckeyes" or "Holy cow that tastes just like a Reese's cup" recipe w/PIX! on: December 18, 2008 07:52:53 PM
mmm, buckeyes.  I make these my the dozen every Christmas.  My recipe calls for 2 pounds of peanut butter and barely fits in the bowl of my Kitchenaid.  They are soooo good.

Those look fun!  I found this tute http://stardustshoes.blogspot.com/2006/10/cloth-shoe-pattern.html for baby shoes a whil back.  I haven't tried them yet, but if you haven't seen it maybe it will give you some helpful tips.
