1  EUROPE / SCANDINAVIAN/NORDIC / Copenhagen on: April 24, 2009 02:44:08 AM
Hi everybody,

I know there is already a copenhagen topic on here, but not only is it very old and inactive, half of it is in Danish which I can't understand well enough...

My question is, does anybody have any tips for cross stitch stores in (the centre of) Copenhagen? I am going on a businesstrip there soon, and I am hoping for some shopping time...
I already found Sommerfuglen, but there must be more?

Thanks in advance for any help!
2  EUROPE / NETHERLANDS / Shops in The Netherlands (cross stitch and other crafts) on: January 08, 2009 01:20:30 AM
As a dutch ex-student I still travel around the country a lot, so I know of a few craft stores spread around the country. I'd like to share my tips, and maybe other posters know of other good stores? I look for (cross) stitching supplies mostly, but most stores carry a bit of everything.

Pipoos is all around Holland, though I find they have a small supply of cross stitching stuff.

Hoorn:
Two great stores in Hoorn, pretty close together too:
Anjo Kleinvak (http://anjokleinvak.nl/, a large craft store with lots of yarn, fabric and other crafty stuff.
Schouten Handwerken (http://www.schoutenhandwerken.nl/), a small store that sells sewing machines, and lots and lots of yarn (the owner is a knitting fan Wink). They also have a big selection of cross stitching fabric, threads, patterns etc. (my favorite go to store!)

Alkmaar:
Naaldkunst (http://www.naaldkunst.nl/), a nice craft store with a big yarn selection, and a corner of cross stitching stuff, nice old store Cheesy

I am still looking for good stores in the vicinity of The Hague (Den Haag), Eindhoven/Helmond, Zutphen, Arnhem, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Amsterdam and Groningen. Anybody have any tips?
3  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Shops in London (cross stitch specifically) on: January 08, 2009 01:07:19 AM
Hey everybody,

I travel to London on business several times a year, but I have never been able to find a good craft store that sells cross stitch stuff (kits, thread and fabric). I know Liberty caries kits, but they weren't really my style (or price range).
Just wondering if anybody has any tips for me for shops in (Central) London?

Thanks in advance,
Sara
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Epic Mario Cross Stitch (from Sprite Stitch) on: January 07, 2009 12:30:46 PM

Before the holidays I finally finished this Mario Cross stitch. I got the pattern at Sprite Stitch: http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=247, and it took me 18 weeks (in 10 months) to finish. It is stitched on evenweave over 1 (my first non-kit project, and first on evenweave, didn't realise I needed to stitch over 2) with hand picked DMC colors.
