21  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: First Home! Kitchen Redo - LOSTA PICS on: September 15, 2009 10:00:14 AM

22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A Little Floss and Some time to Kill on: September 14, 2009 11:58:09 AM

Then a sweeter touch for my husband and his combined love of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Star Wars...

And there you have it!
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Tiny Shrines - A tribute to Santa Fe on: September 11, 2009 10:47:11 PM

I used the idea from Mark Montano's "Big Ass Book of Crafts" to create a 3D picture (choosing layers from an individual photo and cutting them out and elevating each layer in turn). I happily reused some old boxes from dried apricots and plenty of sequins.

I wanted to make them look like tiny shrines (as I had seen here on craftster) as a tribute to Mexican Folk Art while in New Mexico. Here's the first one:

I tried to show the layers by turning it at an angle, but alas it was to no avail.

Here's the second:

C & C welcome!
