21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / TURTLES and flannel on: February 01, 2005 01:55:22 AM
i love this bag. it makes me so happy when i look at it =)

my mom made the fabric selection. i was a little dubious about a flannel bag (i think of pj's) but i loved the combination of turtles which i love and a small plaid ^^ o so cute

the bag

the lining

its a big bag--i used it for my school notebooks today. i used a really thin interfacing but i dunno, i dont want to carry anything too heavy (like my history book) inside

feedback appreciated =)
22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / pink heart canvas purse on: December 28, 2004 05:35:40 PM
i used the tutorial here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=12104.0, only i made a smaller one

made from pink cordoroy (spelling?) and the fabric of a pre-made canvas bag. i like the pink heart aplique, which is edged with lace Smiley
23  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / kermit shirt- *added kermit stencil* on: December 23, 2004 08:45:30 PM
i made this shirt for my friend

the writing says: what's green and smells like pork? (it's a riddle...you probably don't want to know the answer)

the back has kermit the frog's head. i probably should've done it the other way around (front the back and vice versa) but its too late now

its kind of blobby but i hope he likes it

** i'm SUPER late in responding, but here's the stencil i used. (i cut out the white parts)
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / awww denim and heart bag on: December 08, 2004 01:24:24 AM
ok im really excited because this is my first bag ever and i whipped it up in 2 hours  Cheesy

one of my friends' birthday is coming up so i made this for her

made from the leg of a pair of old jeans and lined with some flannel-ish fabric:

i messed up on the applique heart, and somehow the sewing machine needle broke in the middle of construction....... but i think all in all, it turned out okay

i hope she likes it  Smiley
25  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / chobits stencil bag on: November 28, 2004 10:01:14 PM
this is chii from chobits by clamp. clamp has the cutest comics Smiley

i stencilled her onto a canvas bag:

sorri the angle is funny......

i'm really proud of this stencil, although it took like forever to do. the ruffles on her shirt didnt work at all unfortunately....but thats ok. i think i'll need to put a box around the picture too, since the original was cropped

i used contact paper this time, instead of plain cardboard, and i think it came out better

there are a few paint blobs, but they won't be that detectable from a distance Tongue
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / bear sweater on: November 23, 2004 08:08:36 PM
i made a sweater for my teddy bear ^^ aww...

his name is mr. fluffybutt, just to let you all know

it ended up a tad tight on him, but i think it turned out okay.
27  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / hamtaro stencil on: November 18, 2004 10:48:40 PM
this is really crummy stenciling (i was just experimenting)

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / hamtaro happiness on: November 17, 2004 06:37:08 PM
i love this lil bundle of rags i pulled together late last night. i was experimenting with some very crude stenciling using a simple picture of hamtaro (a cute animated hamster) ...and it was too cute to not use!

i took a picture of one of the sides, which are made from a sleeve of an old checked collared shirt of my mom's. i cut the sides a tad too small, so i added the extra farbric for more allowance.

the hamtaro print is safety-pinned rather than sewed onto the shirt, so i can move it to another shirt if i really wanted Smiley i used acrylic art paint, so im not exactly sure it'll survive the wash

all in all, this shirt wasnt a product of skill...more like dumb luck
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / i've overcome my fear of the sewing machine on: November 14, 2004 08:34:43 PM
hey im new to craftster, although i knit, crochet, (and now) sew Smiley

i've been playing with the sewing machine this weekend and this is what i came up with. they were originally really large and baggy tee's which i made smaller and added junk. not too impressive, but they're my first sewing projects

d.a.r.e. shirt
wearing it (i knitted the arm warmer)

blue, awana shirt
wearing it

sorri for the messy room and peeking toes. happy crafting Smiley
