31  Re: Twilight Rd 7 - GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: May 30, 2009 02:58:34 PM
Hehe I made a teaser pic. Cheesy Crafster didn't seem to be working right for Picture hosting so I did it on photobucket. It's a little similar to something I saw on a different swap and was fun to make. I don't think anything is obvious.

Have a good evening!

32  Exams and revision and NO PRESENT? Oh my! (Help please!) in Discussion and Questions by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: May 12, 2009 10:06:48 AM
Ok, so I need some help. I leave my school forever this friday (kind of like a graduation I guess) and I was going to get my form/ home-room teacher a bottle of wine or something to say thanks.
Then he really outdid himself. He bought all 32 of us a personalised bracelet and a beautiful hand-made wire flower. He also then bought pizza for the entire year..  Shocked

The Bracelet^^ (Forgive the cell phone pic)

So I feel like I really ought to make him something really nice. I just have no idea what. He is about 35, maybe older and is a History teacher. He has an itouch so I was thinking of making him a case for that but I'm not 100% sure. I'd really like to make him something that he'll keep forever.

Oh and I have 2 days. Any ideas?  Huh

33  Recon Jeans backpack [IMAGE HEAVY] in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: April 23, 2009 10:56:09 AM
Hi y'all, this is my first topic! Smiley
So, a while ago I had a little problem. I accidently ripped my jeans badly across the thighs and I asked my Grandmother (Who is a sewing whiz) to fix them up, but she never got round to it. One evening I was visiting and had nothing to do so started to look through her material drawers, where I found my jeans. I was hit with a flash of inspiration and finished this bag within 3 hours, including the tricky applique. Here you go:

The closed bag

The bag showing the applique and working pockets

Here's the back. The straps were made from the legs of the jeans, but didn't use too much material. I think I still have some left over. Cheesy

I'm a Twilight fan, and I made a shiny apple to sew on the front. The image is pretty bad, but it was some of my first un-aided applique.

The Superman applique. This was really hard and took nearly a third of my time. I'd advise you to try something a little easier for first time applique. Cheesy

And finally, the antique buttons. These are amazing, and apparently came from my great-grandfather's army uniform. I'm really lucky.

Well, there you go! That's it, my first topic.  Grin If there is a demand for it, I suppose I can post a tutorial. Just let me know what you think!
