11  Re: June 2011 Birthday Swap Discussion and Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: July 07, 2011 07:05:12 AM
Hi! This is my second time trying to post this; for some reason it didn't work before!

I received from Skittlebub the other day, and I loved it! I actually received it when my family was out of the house and my mum tried to make me wait until everyone else was in before I could open it. I managed to convince her otherwise, though!

I was really excited as soon as I got the brown paper off because I could see this little Toy story logo inside, which just made me really excited. Smiley

Once I got it open, the first thing I saw was this awesome Toy Story Cross stitch, which I am really excited to try. After I finish up what I am working on at the moment, this will definitely be the first thing I do.

Next Up was an absolutely gorgeous fascinator (which is unfortunately impossible to get a good action shot of) and matches perfectly a turquoise corset I just bought. I will try and get an action shot of it tonight, when I wear it out. Smiley

Finally, an extra which you could see in a previous pic, a nice big ball of black wool! I'd completely run out and couldn't get any more for ages. Smiley

I'll be using it up pretty soon, methinks!

Thanks again, Skittlebub, and TroubleT for making this such an awesome swap!

13  Buffy swap, Round 5? in New Swap Theme Ideas by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: May 19, 2011 02:30:30 PM
Hello Scoobies,

I was wondering if anyone would be up for another BTVS swap? The last one was ages ago, and having only just got into Buffy about a year ago, I'm raring to do one. Would anyone be interested at all? I was wondering if sometime over the summer would be nice?

Here are some links to previous galleries, to get you going;

14  My first forays into Cake decorating in Dessert by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: April 19, 2011 06:18:54 AM

I made and decorated these cakes a LONG time ago... And I'm actually missing the pictures for a couple of others I made including a Superman and a Star Trek one for my 15th and my sisters' 14th Birthdays, respectively.

The first is one I made two years ago, for my sixteenth birthday, back when I was an avid Twilight fan. I still like it, only I'm not as obsessed as I used to be. I tried to incorperate aspects from each of the 4 books; the Chessboard for Breaking Dawn, the Ribbon for Eclipse, the Flower for New Moon and the Marzipan Apple for Twilight itself. I actually even stuck an apple sticker from Forks, WA on it, which was from an apple that was handed out at one of the Press screenings I went to.

Plan view:

Apple Detail:

Flower detail:

The flower did actually have icing sugar on it to make it resemble the orchid on the book cover, but that doesn't seem to show up on the pictures...

The Second cake was one I made for my Form Tutor at school, when his birthday co-incided with the day he left. Sad Amazingly, however, the clock was actually made to the exact time he was born! Completely by fluke...

Anyway, thanks for looking! Hope to see you here again soon. Smiley

15  To craft, or not to craft?- Homage to Shakespeare bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: April 19, 2011 06:05:56 AM

I'm (finally) forcing myself to upload some of the stuff I've made to Crafster, because I always forget. Smiley I made this for my friend's birthday in November 2010, using printable Shrink plastic. She's an avid fan of Shakespeare (as am I) so I threw this together.

Please bear in mind that the pictures are hideous My photo-taking skills have since improved. Smiley

Bracelet in Box I made, which was decorated with Quotes from Othello and Macbeth:

The whole bracelet laid out on a tatty bit of paper:

Half action shot 1:

Half action shot 2:

The Charms included a picture of Shakespeare's head, and the book covers for; All's well that ends well, A midsummer night's dream, Anthony and Cleopatra, Love's labours lost, A Comedy of Errors, Trollius and Cressida, The Tempest and Titus Andronicus. Not actually my favourites, but the prettiest book covers. Smiley

One problem that I think was probably had with this is that I didn't seal it... Which (given the current state of similar bracelets I have made) means that the colours probably ran a lot. Does anyone have any tips for sealing?

16  Re: True Blood Swap round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: February 02, 2011 08:14:28 AM
If this doesn't work properly, I apologise. Craftster is being very strange today

I finally received! Yay. I love this all soo much. I am uber excited. And I think that 21 may just have been our mucky number for this swap; it took 21 days to get here, and now I have 21 photos to show you! I'll try to whittle them down though
First, I'd like to say that the package was packaged very nicely, with Fangtasia on one side and Merlottes on the other. Smiley And, the first item I pulled out was this AMAZING hoodie, which I have been unable to take off since. I have a feeling it will become my Very Best Friend.

After that I opened a letter from Eric Northman's very own notepaper, detailing what was in each package and what to look at next. Which was this awesome bookbag!

Now, I could feel that there was something inside, but I never knew it would be this much! Look at all these goodies!

These included an amazing TB bookmark which is definitely one of my faves;

ID cards for all the best people of True Blood (and Emmett from Twilight);

A Pam Calendar (I think we were on the same wavelength here)

My Very own Vampire birth certificate!

And others including two New Zealand badges, A Twilight themed Jasper and Alice Pin and 4 TB cards, all of which can be seen on my picture hosting.

The Eric card, because Craftster wouldnt let me make it small. Must be fate;

Finally, I opened up this last package which she told me to leave til last and found this!! A signed picture of Sookie and Eric. Neither she nor I know whether it is real or not, but I don't care. It's going with my signed Michelle Forbes (Maryann) picture. Smiley

There was also a True Blood/ Twilight Journal which Craftster won't let me show you. I'll try again another day when it likes me better

There you go! One of the best swap packages ever.  I hope it didnt forget anything Thank you Pixie, for the awesome package and thank you lisa5691 for organising!
Hope I didnt overload your computers

17  Can you help me find a pattern for a "Fairy Queen" Dress? in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: January 17, 2011 12:34:58 PM
Greetings all,

I have been taking part in an English May Queen Pageant from about the age of 3 and this year it's my turn to be Fairy Queen. Great! Except we can't find a pattern.

I've looked through everything;  Burda and Bridal, Simplicity and Special Occ, but I have yet to find 'the dress'.

I'm looking for one with probably a corset top and quite a large 'fwoofy' skirt, to hide my huge hips. I quite like the idea of off the shoulder, long drapy sleeves. And Petals. On the skirt. Smiley

Something like these below would be great;

Another problem is that my 'seamstress' is my 92 year old Grandmother and she doesn't want to do anything too complex. She also doesn't like altering patterns.

Any help you can give me would be great; I understand that I'm asking for a lot.

18  Re: One Tiny Star Trek Thing Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: May 09, 2010 07:55:45 AM
Yesterday I received two packages. The first was my amazing and beautiful package from MunLtStmpr And the package I sent her last Saturday. Apparently there was a problem with my addressing of the package which meant they couldn't send it, So I will be sending it again, repackaged and perfect, ASAP. By ASAP, I mean tomorrow. Cheesy

First; The awesome packaging! Apparently MunLtStmpr wasn't allowed to send it like this, but she left it wrapped up inside. Isn't it amazing?
(New Image added, the original contained personal information)
And inside;

This gorgeous Bracelet! I have barely taken it off since I received. I really love the down-played Star-Trek-ness of it. And it's really pretty. Cheesy

Thank you so much MunLtStmpr! I love it so much! It's gorgeous.

19  One small step for Shrinky-dink, one giant leap of epic proportions in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: April 25, 2010 01:32:22 PM

I made this necklace today, using skrink-art shrinkable plastic for my friend's birthday tomorrow. It was my first time using the non-printable stuff; and I really liked it! It was hard trying to find pens that worked though. Cheesy

I took the inspiration from an image on my hard-drive that I downloaded years ago. If anyone knows the OP, let me know so I can credit them.

So, What do you think? I've had some mixed reactions from it thus far. My Mum thinks it's horrible and weird, but my sisters love it and have both commisioned one. Do you think it's good enough for a 17th birthday present? And do you think a normal, non space obsessed teenager would like it?

20  Re: OTTT or One Tiny Twilight Thing gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Super-Ted_Cullen! on: April 21, 2010 02:55:06 PM
Thanks for all the praise! The hoodie was really fun to make; I made it one afternoon last week whilst my Aunt (stuck) here from Australia was doing some intense embroidery. We raced and I finished first. I'm not too suprised though Cheesy

Anyway, I recieved! A gorgeous piece of embroidery made by the wonderful MiLady, along with some other goodies (which will not be posted here); Some lovely chocolate and a beautiful heart charm that I will use in some nice crafting.

So, there it is! The Volturi emblem in all its wonderful glory (and one of my favourite colours). I'm thinking of putting it on my wall, so I can admire it every day. And would you believe; this was MiLady's first ever piece of embroidery! Wowza!

I am absolutely astounded by it, especially since I love the volturi so much. Cheesy

Thank you so much, MiLady! I really hope I can be with you again sometime. You guys should too.
