1  No-sew fairy tutu in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by village_diva on: December 15, 2011 10:32:29 PM
A friend of mine asked me to help her make two little tutus for little girls who LOVE fairies.  So we researched how to make no-sew tutus and this is what we came up with  Grin

We bought light pink, fuschia, and green tulle from Wal-mart. We also added ribbon that was silver and sparkly.  What little girl wouldn't like a tutu!

5  Cranberry Nut Bread in Recipes and Cooking Tips by village_diva on: August 11, 2009 05:26:00 PM
Thanksgiving has come early to our house this August  Grin

Our roommates parents gave us a turkey so we decided to invite a bunch of friends over and bring their own thanksgiving dish.  I decided to make my favorite bread that I usually only make one time a year.

Here's the recipe if interested:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix all together, stir in:

3/4 cup orange juice (I like to use light syrup from a can of mandarin oranges)
1 tsp grated orange peel (optional)
2 TBS shortening
1 egg well beaten

When well blended add:

1 1/2 cups chopped cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Pour into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan

Bake for 55 minutes @ 350 degrees or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then remove from pan and allow to cool completely, wrap and store overnight.

If anyone tries this recipe let me know how it turns out  Smiley

7  First (attempt at) Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by village_diva on: April 23, 2009 07:19:03 PM
So I've been crocheting scarves right before x-mas and then stop once gift giving is over.  I stopped crocheting because scarves were all that I really knew how to make.  So I decided to try and make a hat.... it's definitely not what I exactly wanted, but it's a hat  Cheesy

Also, I just bought the glass head recently at Pier 1... a lot of people think that it's creepy, but I thought that it was neat.  It's also 100% recycled glass!   Grin

Thanks for looking!   Wink
