11  Sleeping baby dragon. in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: February 01, 2014 12:13:58 AM
I made myself a tiny gold sleeping baby dragon some time ago, and my sons fiance has always tried to talk me out of it lol.... so I made her one of her own for Christmas.  I had such a hard time packing him up and sending him away...I really loved him.  But she loves him too.  He's made from polymer clay with sequin scales.  Hes sleeping inside a snow globe to keep him safe from my grandson.

12  Revamped an old clock into something fabulous! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ShannonMB on: December 10, 2013 11:27:50 PM
I have been spending way too much time at the local thrift stores.  I have become obsessed with finding crappy things that I can bring home and make fabulous.  So, my most recent find was this:

It was missing the clock face and two of the wooden rays.  I knew for the low low price of 3.99 I could make it better!

So, THIS is what it became!!  I absolutely LOVE it!!  It was repainted with acrylic paints an sealed with Mod Podge.  I took apart an old clock we had laying around for the clock guts. (the body of the old clock was used for a day of the dead shrine that I'll post later).

13  Fancy handpainted gel polish manicure. in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: December 10, 2013 11:20:05 PM
I have been working on nail art over gel manicures. This one is done with a very small brush and a variety of Gelish colors.  The black outline is acrylic paint.  Then the whole design is topped off with Gelish Top It Off.

15  Raise a tiny glass and have a tiny toast. Lampwork bead in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: May 07, 2012 01:39:45 PM
Ok....I gotta say, I am pretty proud of this particular bead.   Grin  My husband and I are putting together a whole lot of crafted items for a craft fair.  It's mostly stuff he makes, but I said I'd make some earrings and pendants for him to bulk up his inventory.
As per my usual, when I'm making a bead, my head is usually about two or three beads ahead of what I'm working on.  *L*  I was working on encasing something in clear and wondered to myself, "self, I wonder if you could make a little rootbeer float or a little beer mug?"

So, here it is.  I haven't cleaned out the release yet, and I still have to make it's little mate for it to be a matched set for earrings, but I couldn't wait to share.   Grin

16  Halloween Zombie Nail art in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: April 15, 2012 06:26:42 PM
These were from October of 2011...but I've been so very lazy about posting!  *L*  We took our kids to Silverwood in October which converts over to Scarywood...it's crawling with zombies and creepy clowns and roller coasters that run backwards.  There are also several haunted houses.  I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have creepy bloody zombie nails...cause that's how I roll!   Grin

17  Anime cosplay - Taokaka in Costumes: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: April 15, 2012 06:16:52 PM
My daughter's Sakuracon 2011 cosplay.  I was feeling much more ambitious last year.  She ended up with three outfits.  I didn't use a pattern for this one...another fly by the seat of my pants.  She looked so freakin' cute in it.  She got stopped a lot for pictures.  It ended up being really really short so I made her wear flesh colored leggings and booty shorts under it.  She was just fine with that.  *L*

18  Anime Cosplay - Boris in Costumes: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: April 15, 2012 06:08:21 PM
My daughter's cosplay from 2011 Sakuracon.  This one was made without a pattern.  Had to wing it.  This one ended up being one of her very favorites.  She made the pink and purple stole all by herself.  I'm trying to get her to sew some of this stuff herself.  *L*  She does like to give me the big blinky eyes and tell me that I'm just so good at making her stuff...so I end up taking over!  Bad mommy...she'll never learn to sew that way!  *L*

19  Anime cosplay costume...Stocking in Costumes: Completed Projects by ShannonMB on: April 15, 2012 05:37:48 PM
My daughter (who is 17 this year) is very very into anime and every April we take her to a convention in down town Seattle...Sakuracon.  She is sooo spoiled because her mommy (Me) knows how to sew and I generally can create whatever she comes up by mashing patterns together or by faking it without a pattern.  This year she wanted to go as a character called Stocking.  She had a friend she was meeting who was supposed to go as the partner to this cosplay called Panties.  (I know, it sounds bad, right?)  So she shows me the pictures...and then, bless her heart, tells me that she doesn't want the really really short skirt because she doesn't want to look like a hoochie!  I love my daughter!  So here is what the outfit looked like as anime and what we came up with.  I sort of used a pattern....but this particular cosplay was mostly a fly by the seat of my pants situation!

20  Re: Monster Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ShannonMB on: November 06, 2011 06:14:48 PM
I received my box from Suereal on Thursday...I promised myself I wouldn't open it until I sent her package out.  But I was weak and opened it this morning. *L*

First....a pink monster hug shrug..........I love shrugs...means I can wear my summer tops into the winter!

A monster bag...my daughter tells me I shouldn't be surprised if he goes missing...and she NEVER carries a purse!  *L*  He is lined with fluffy red fabric with clay teeth

Lots of goodies...there was a coffee crisp candy bar...but that was snapped up by the husband before I could get it in the picture.

And last but not least....introducing Monty and Burt the Geebo Twins...

I absolutely love everything!!  You'll get a laugh when you get the package from me...seems we had the same thoughts on some stuff.  *L*

Thanks again!!
