1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Bride of Frankenstein, my design! on: November 05, 2009 02:27:25 PM
Okay so this year for halloween I wanted to do something different. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what to do. We decided to to to Atlantic City, NJ this year to celebrate our favorite holiday, and I wanted a unique costume, something the stores don't carry, which worked out cause we saw just about every costume mass manufactured while we were there. Okay enough rambling, on my way home from work about 2 weeks before halloween it hit me, I wanted to create my version of the Bride of Frankenstein, sexy with class. On to the pictures, if you click on them they will load the full size image....

Here's the sketch for my design:

Creation comes to life: (slightly blurred but I love it)

and Finally a close up of the bodice and makeup:

The dress was made from a couple sheets I had, a sheer curtain from the thrift store, spiderweb fabric from Joann's that totally rocks, it's silver spiderwebs on the front and the back of the same web is purple, my own little thing cause purple is my thing and I had to add it somehow, also black satin ribbon, eyelet tape, loopy lacy ribbon, an invisible zipper, and a lovely rose pin I got a a craft fair, you can't really see it in the pics but the back had a bow w/slight train. The veil/headpiece was made with a tiara from the thrift store, a sparkly spider from party city, and the same fabric from the overskirt. I used a wig from Party City as well and took several hours with Aquanet and bobby pins to get it to look decent and then added the red flower for a pop. I also had spider web glovettes and 2 layers of stockings white with stitches under black spiderwebs again from Party City and Joann's. You can't really see it in the pics but I also made a spider ring from FIMO, as soon as I get decent pics I'll post it too w/the other PC stuff.

Thanks for looking. I'll try to modify with a mirror shot of the back when I get the image. Comments and Creative Criticism welcome. All votes appreciated  Cheesy
