11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ice Twins ala Knitty! on: January 11, 2005 05:00:08 PM
So I had this Jaeger ice blue wool lying around and had no idea what to do with it... and I saw this pattern on Knitty http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer03/PATTtwins.html... thus, today I knitted this:

Ironically, I can't wear it without a bra underneath! ::snickers:: Gonna have to whip out the TP stuffing in the future... or maybe just ask my parents for implants as a graduation gift.  Tongue
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My new favorite hat! on: January 08, 2005 08:22:47 AM
This is just a hat I decided to knit with the other Jiffy midnight yarn I ordered... turns out I'm in love with it, and can't take it off!  Cheesy

I improvised the "Sparkle Hat" from Stitch n' Bitch and "Kim's hats" from Last Minute Knitted Gifts... It's got the nubbies w/o any paillettes and decreases like a Kim's. I heart crocheted flowers, so I made one of those for it too!
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jiffy Tube-Top in a Jiff! on: January 06, 2005 12:44:14 PM
I wanted to knit a tube-top, but I couldn't find any patterns on the web or in any books, so I got out my trusty #9 circulars and whipped this baby up.

I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn in White. It's soo snuggly, and really does look like Mohair! The tubetop fits pretty well, except for being a bit snug on the top, but I'm guessing it'll stretch after a couple of wears.
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Way too cute knitted sock earrings! on: January 04, 2005 10:50:09 AM
I was just surfing the web for patterns when I came across these on patternworks.com... and I just hadta post them  Cheesy

(click here to see why I changed this to a link rather than a hotlinked picture - leah)

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Glampyre Minisweater on: December 30, 2004 03:46:45 PM
I just started working on knitting the Minisweater from glampyreknits.com: http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id62.html
So far, so good. I'm just stuck on what to do for Row 15... of the sleeve...
it says: "Row 15, work increase row as normal, but increase five stitches evenly over both sleeve sections. "

What to do? What to do? Any advice would be mui appreciated! Shocked
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jellybean / Licorice Hat on: December 29, 2004 05:31:46 PM
I'm seeing my friend tomorrow and made him the Licorice hat from Sn'B Nation... as everyime I see him, he's never got a hat on! And it's c-c-c-cooold outside!

Can't tell you how eeezy this was to make! I used size 10 needles w/ Reynold's Utopia, and it came out so soft and chunky feeling. I'm gonna make one for myself later.  Cheesy
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ghost Yarn? on: December 29, 2004 02:39:51 PM
Has anyone ever knitted with "ghost yarn" before? I saw it in the store the other day and looks uber amazing!
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Combat Baby Tote Bag! on: December 28, 2004 09:29:48 AM
For xmas, my parents bought me "25 Bags to Knit", since on top of knitting, I've also gotta bag fetish!

While I was in London, I bought this amazing camoflauge colored Jaeger Merino Wool, and couldn't decide what to do with it, so I used it to make the orange "clementine" bag on pg. 86. And instead of stitching daisies I used metal studs to give it that... err... "I'm gonna kick ur booty" look? hehe!

The patterns are pretty easy, but the bag itself isn't meant to carry anything heavier than keys and a wallet... give or take a couple of butterscotch candies  Wink... I should probably line it, to make it more sturdy.

All in all, it was really quick and fun to make. The handle is basically one big button hole... Though I won't say that part didnt' hurt.  Tongue
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "For the Love of Knitting" must-have pattern!!! on: December 27, 2004 10:32:01 AM
So I was in Barnes & Noble today looking at knitting books and came across "For the Love of Knitting"... an ultimate homage to all things Knitty!
I'm a sucker for the 1920s, so when I came across this one photo of a vintage 1921 Fleischer or  Fleischter (sp?) yarn pattern for the "Diane Sweater" I fell in love and decidedly MUST make that sweater!

I scribbled the pattern down as best I could on the only scrap of paper I had in my bag, an old recipt  Roll Eyes (generally I always carry a notepad with me, but of all days... you know the story) but knowing me, I probably missed something.

So if anyone has this book, might you help a girl out as to be so kind and post the pattern?  I will knit you cookies and bake you mittens!  Grin
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Sparkly Pink Cabled Armwarmers & a Hat! on: December 23, 2004 09:14:02 PM
I knitted these while I was away on vacation...

This one's actually a modified version of the Adults-only Devil Hat from Stitch n' Bitch... same hat, I just nixed the horns and tacked on a crocheted flower  Wink
