31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Halloween Charm Bracelet on: September 28, 2009 11:30:25 AM

I found a great magazine article on vintage Halloween decorations and knew I had to use the pictures to make something fun.  After looking into my stash I remembered I had two "martha stewart" charm bracelet kits one that I received in a swap and one I bought on clearance.  Anyway, I cut out the images using a template and then adhered to the charm and covered with an epoxy sticker.

I loved it with the images alone but it really needed something so I found a pair of dangly bat earrings and took them apart to use as bat charms.  First time in a long time I have made something for myself!
32  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Pixie dust wishing necklace on: September 02, 2009 03:05:57 PM
Been trying my had at jewelry lately.  Wish the pic showed how sparkly the dust is.
33  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Nintendo DS Case on: September 02, 2009 03:03:40 PM
I picked up this fabric on the remnant pile for cheap but had no idea what I would do with it.  One week later my 7 year old neighbor received a DS from her parents.  It was as if the fabric was made for this!! Wink

I added a tiny pocket on the inside for game storage.

a little blurry but you get the idea
34  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bird Tote on: August 17, 2009 09:20:06 AM
Kids are at Grandma's this morning so I was able to finish off this tote.  I'm still learning the ins & outs so it is not even close to perfect but I love it anyway!

this pic shows the color much better.  Cream & sage/olive green

thanks for looking!!!
35  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Vintage fabric squares on: July 05, 2009 06:12:16 AM
I recently received a small bag full of vintage fabric scraps.

Most of them are 3x3 inches and there isn't really enough of them to make even a lap quilt.

Any suggestions?
36  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Inherited quilt block on: July 05, 2009 06:08:32 AM
I inherited a block that was in my grandmother's stash and cannot decide what to do with it.

Do I finish it up and frame it?  Or maybe frame it as is???  I know I am not nearly ready to do an entire quilt based on this one block.  My great grand kids would find it years from now unfinished!  lol!

Any tips?
37  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / garage sale lamp on: July 05, 2009 06:00:04 AM
I finally found the perfect lamp at a garage sale for $1.  It had the plastic "Brass" finish and included a dusty cream/rose shade.

I then used the lamp to follow through on a threat I had made to my sister last Christmas when she gave me a gallon size bag of plastic knives as part of my gift.  We go for the gag gift/thrift store find each year and I had threatened that I would make her something out of that bag of knives.

I used all of the blue/green knives in the bag.  Now all that is left is pink/orange/red which will be used for a later project  to be determined Tongue
38  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Need tips for storage in craft room! Please help! on: June 23, 2009 07:14:21 PM
So I have been blessed with a home office and a hubby that is willing to share it with me.  He is a neat & orderly type and I on the otherhand am the complete opposite (it is my creativity that causes this Wink )

So a constant issue for us is the state of my craft area which at times overflows into "his" space, and ok I admit it has gone all the way out the door a time or two.  Here is a pic of the disaster area.

I know it looks like someone had a craft explosion on it.  And this is after I tidied up a bit.  I think a big part of the problem is the lack of storage (along with a lack of $ to purchase said storage)
I am a dabbler so there is a lot of this & that lying around.

And where to store the fabric?

I have tried plastic bins and it is not working for me at all.  I like to bead, embroider, sew, scrapbook, and often I have a few projects going at the same time.  I also tend to hang on to items that I plan to upcycle later.

I can't be the only one with this issue...where do you guys put all this stuff??
39  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Ribbitt...in the nursery on: June 19, 2009 08:52:49 PM
So I am really debating on whether or not this should go here.  Its a painting, but I wouldn't really consider it "art" more crafty than anything, but here goes.  If it needs moving please let me know.

My sister is having her 2nd child in 2 days!!!  She has EVERYTHING she could possibly need so I am helping her decorate the nursery.  The theme is....frogs.  So I painted this happy little guy...

I added 3-D wings to Mr Fly by stitching wings into a piece of vinyl, cutting them out and then sewing the wings to the canvas.  Hard to capture this in a pic.

I like his eyes the best.  I think I should work on the swamp around him a little more though.

thanks for looking!
40  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Plastic Knives on: June 11, 2009 11:55:37 AM
Every year for Christmas my sister and I try to find the most obnoxious or hideous gift we can.  It has to be a garage sale or thrift shop find and cost under $10.

Last year part of the gift she gave me included a gallon size bag of plastic knives.  This year she will be receiving half of them (that's right I still have half a bag left!)

I think she should hang it in her kitchen! Grin

I told her I would make something for her with them.  Am considering a lamp shade for the rest.
