1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / how to attach pearls inside a shell? on: May 09, 2009 06:10:15 PM
I have a shell from my vacation in Florida last year that I really want to make a necklace with.  I want to put a fresh water pearl inside of it, but I'm not sure how I should do it.  I considered wire wrapping but I don't like how it looks that way.  Could I glue the pearl in there?  Could I use super glue or do I need a special epoxy or could I even use resin?  I want something that won't damage the pearls or the shell.
2  UNITED STATES / Virginia / Wire in Richmond? on: May 09, 2009 06:42:51 AM
I really want to try wire wrapping with something other than copper, but that's all I can find here in Richmond.  Anyone know where I can find some silver wire around here?  I've checked Michael's and Ben Franklin and all they have is copper. Huh

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it.  I didn't even know there was a huge bead store in Carytown!  Some of their stuff is a bit pricey, but the wire was pretty decently priced.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Cheapest pony beads? on: April 24, 2009 05:51:49 AM
I really want to try my hand at melted beads, but I don't have any pony beads in my stash.  I'm also on a very limited budget atm.  Where's the cheapest place to buy pony beads?  Huh
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / 8- to 7-count needlpoint on: November 20, 2008 07:48:42 AM
Been lurking for a while, and I must say you craftsters are AWESOME!  This is my first post so I apologize if it's in the wrong place, repeat, etc.  Searched and didn't find anything, so here it goes...

Found a needlepoint pattern I would like to make for a friend for Christmas.  It's made in 8-count plastic canvas, but given that I can't find 8 and went ahead and bought 7-count, is that going to be a big deal?  I was wondering if I can convert the pattern count to my count somehow.  Its the nintendo ds lite case here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=127932.0

Thanks! Wink
