I'm happy you liked everything, aheartofglass. I'll let the mind manipulation slide. You're horse is bigger than me, and cuter too, so when Miracle says "do," I did. Enjoy.

Spring breaks over and school is kicking my toosh. Sorry it took a few days to upload pics of my birthday goodies. It's been killing me because I can't use them until I've given proper thank you's. So here we go...

Thanks a ton Xandrygirl. I love my new buttons and the hearts are a great start to my new collection.

Thank you lindyv321. I love the wrap bracelette and now I can start reading everyone's favorite book and movie. I will no longer be out of the loop. Lindy also included a black/white/red flower hair clip. My daughter happens to have swiped that to wear today.

Thank you both so much,

I'll be finishing up my second claim tomorrow. It's most of the way there, I've just got put some finishing touches on one of the goodies. First claim went out today. My hopes are that both birthday girls feel spoiled. I stalked like crazy to, hopefully, nail your styles.  I've had a great time crafting for both of you, Alchemy513 and aheartofglass.

Everything is amazing! Those bracelets look wonderful and so soft. The detail in embelishing all of these lovely birthday gifts is wonderful. Love the mouth pocket on the OctoBear. I finished my birthday math final and tomorrow get to craft most of the day away. Look out Alchamy513, hopefully you don't get random crafty bits flung from afar whilst I craft like a mad woman for you. I've had ideas popping up since I signed up. I can't wait to get started.

TroubleT, the girls and I study Shudokan karate. We're looking at getting our black belts November 2013, if all goes as planned. Our school does a really great job teaching life skills and tying karate to school and family life. They've learned so much practicing martial arts. It's been great!

The "special" thing I get to do on my birthday this year is take my math final at 6PM. Kind of a drag to be studying all day and missing the evening with the family on my birthday. On the other hand, it's the last math class for a couple of weeks, so Yay! I'm going with a glass half full on this one.

18  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: March 2012 Birthday Swap - Join All Month! on: March 14, 2012 06:15:06 PM
Hey everyone, Im Amy. I live near Seattle, WA with my husband & 2 girls. My birthday is March 20. Last fall I went back to school for nursing. Im hoping to finish nursing school before my oldest finishes high school. There are a couple of books on my must read list at the moment. My oldest tells me I have to read Hunger Games so we can go see the movie. Then, theres the book, 50 Shades of Gray, that I saw on Good Morning America thats on the must read fairly soon list, as well. So, thats my life, school, raising 12 & 14 yo girls, trying to keep up on my reading/crafting and oh, theres karate. The girls and I also take karate together. We just tested for our green belts. Yay, that means were now more than halfway to our black belts. It also means were finally getting a clue as to which way our bodies should be moving. Its funny to think that Ive had this very same body for 39 years now and it doesnt always want to do what I tell it to. Remember when you first tried to rub your tummy and pat your head. Thats a lot like karate for me, somedays. Wouldnt give up the time with the girls for anything, though.

In general I love hearts, zippy bags, black/white/purples/blues, scarves/cowls, tote bags, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, green tea, popcorn and zentangles.

On to the list
Idea lists to get a sense of what I likeSurprises would be great.
-Wisty ideas. http://www.wists.com/DiscoQueenHighness
-Recently discovered pinterest. http://pinterest.com/discoqueenh/
-Ravelry favs. http://www.ravelry.com/people/DiscoQueenH/favorites

Specifics-Id love a shawl like this in purples, blues or ivory/off white. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-shawl

- a slouchy hat in black, purple, or blues would be amazing.

- Hearts &/or balls - Id love to have a bowl of knit/crochet/sewn hearts and/or balls just to play with. Eyeballs are always a fun ball to add to the mix. Adding to the collection would be great. Ohh, balls with comic book action works like BAM! Or KAPOW! Or the like would be loads of fun. You know when the connect with the back of my husbands head. A nice double insult for him just before he picks it up to whizz it back at me.
Thanks Xandrigirly

- a sleeve scarf. Instead of a whole sweater, Id like a scarf made of one continuous sleeve with the little ribbing at the ends like sleeves have so often.

- a wristlet/zippered pouch big enough to hold 4 passports.

-pyramid zippy bag - I've always loved these - http://www.etsy.com/listing/71720220/pacifier-pyramidcoin-pursejewelry?ref=sr_gallery_5&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=&ga_order=date_desc&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

- Im not sure what size this would be considered, but Id kill for one of these chickens. http://blueskyalpacas.com/patterns/knit-chickens/

- Ive been wanting this wrap since October 2009. A dark eggplanty purple or a denim color or ivory or gray would be AMAZING! It looks like its a pretty chunky yarn, so should knit up pretty quickly. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/tma/i-s-l-a-n-d-e-w-r-a-p

- A granny square scarf in blacks, whites, & purples

- tea bag pouches that button closed at the top and are big enough to hold Tazo/Stash tea bags. I prefer the pouches over the wallets. Ive seen some cool cable knit ones. I havent seen one but I think a scrappy quilted one would be amazing, too. You could even leave the edges unfinished. Several would be great so I could keep one in the car, one in my bag, maybe one in my lunch box. http://www.etsy.com/listing/56926242/catnip-eyeballs-bulk-5-sets?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=eyeball&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=3&order=&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=title

- a necklace like this one. http://www.wists.com/DiscoQueenHighness/4b38eec0a960bfad637812084d79382c all I have is the picture, it doesnt link to anything anymore.

- leather/beaded triple wrap bracelet Thanks, Lindyv321

- Altoid tin watercolor travel paint set (or similar, something small I can take on vacation for art journaling) http://www.instructables.com/id/Movable-Pallet-Altoid-Tin-Watercolor-Set/

-- a paracord bracelet black/pink or camo/pink

- magnetic dish towels  http://www.instructables.com/id/Magnetowel-magnetized-kitchen-towel/?ALLSTEPS

- insulated lunch box one that would fit my 7x5 inch rectangle pyrex dish and let it sit flat.

- polymer clay buttons that look similar to this in sets of 3 2 inches in diameter. Love the shimmer on the top. http://www.etsy.com/listing/94225866/handmade-polymer-clay-cabochon-in-silver?ref=sr_gallery_14&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=13&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade  or http://www.etsy.com/listing/91875340/polymer-clay-earrings-stamped-with

Howdy, I'm sending in my questionnaire. Love this swap, it's so laid back. I've been focusing on school as I went back this fall. I'm trying to beat my oldest daughter to the graduation line. If all goes well I'll graduate nursing school before she finishes high school. WooHoo. Off to browse birthday lists.
