1  Re: Share My Best Medium with 3 People Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fairieknits on: June 22, 2009 08:40:17 AM
Sorry it took me so long to post pictures. There was something wrong with my camera and the weather has been lousy here in MA. I did manage to catch a fleeting bit of sunshine so I snapped these with my cell phone, sorry about the quality.

It is the perfect length, and it has crystal quartz, garnet, carnelian, rose quartz, amethyst and the magnetic hematite in it. Thank you again Ronda, I love it!

2  Re: Easy Peasy 2 Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by fairieknits on: May 29, 2009 05:07:04 PM
I received today from Wise Owl! OMG! My necklace is perfect! I love it, love it, love it! I'm obsessed with fairytales and Wise Owl made me the perfect necklace!

It is made of silver precious metal clay that is hand stamped accented with three CZ stone on either end of the saying. She added the 2 sets of 3 stones because often things in fairy tales happen in 3s. Then she added the drop because it reminder her of Sleeping Beauty and her most famous crafting accident. (Speaking of which, if you haven't you should really read Spindle's End, a fascinating redo of the Sleeping Beauty story, by Robin McKinley)

I love it so much the colors are perfect and the thought and insight Wise Owl put into it are stunning.

Thank you!!!

I got home and had a shiny new package waiting for me. Dip_n_Dot's package got here!

I got a pretty cotton soap saver in my favorite color and a wildberry scented soy candle that I can't wait to light up!

This is the facial pad and wash cloth set that I received last week!
I've used the washcloth and I'm in love!

6  It has been a month of babies! in Crochet: Completed Projects by fairieknits on: April 03, 2009 12:25:22 PM
This is a set of Hexagon baby sweaters I did for a woman I work with that is having boy/girl twins. The babies are due in June so I figured I'd go a bit big and warm and they would be good early fall sweaters.

All yarn was stash, some red heart soft in guacamole, Vanna's choice in Dusty and Antique rose and some navy that I think was Bernat. The buttons on the boys sweater are little car novelty buttons and the girls sweater were crocheted to match. I have offered to replace the buttons on the boy sweater with similar if the mother feels nervous. As of now she really likes the car buttons.

And this is a blanket I made for My hubbies cousins that are having a baby boy in a few short weeks. Sorry the pic isn't great I had to crop a close up from a shower picture, I forgot to get a photo of the blanket before. There was also a matching hat with it. It was crocheted in soft green Red Heart soft baby steps. it opens up big, about 32 inches square.

7  Purple baby hat and sweater set in Crochet: Completed Projects by fairieknits on: April 03, 2009 12:09:09 PM
Made this for a friend, she is giving it as a gift for a shower.

Started the sweater with a simple top down sweater pattern and got bored really quick so I figured out the raglan shaping and then winged it. Both the purple and green yarns are soft acrylics but they were from the stash and unmarked, the pink for the flowers was some left over Vanna's choice in dusty rose.

8  Baby blanket- My first topic! in Crochet: Completed Projects by fairieknits on: February 02, 2009 11:21:53 AM
So a girl I work with asked me to make a baby blanket for her sister. We took a look at some ideas and she really liked the woven effect of the Checkmate baby blanket from the lionbrand website. So I made a few alterations (added a row, shrunk the whole thing) and this is what I got. It is just about 28 inches square.

I also made a coordinated hat of the scraps.

Here is a close up:

The colors are all Vana's Choice and Vanna's choice baby: black, chocolate cake (baby), beige, honey, dusty rose and antique rose.

While a lot of fun the amount of color changes were INSANE. I do think I will make another of these, full size and for me.

Hope you enjoy! Any comments/criticism (good or bad) would be appreciated!
