2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: VDAY Cookie Swap Gallery of Sweets on: February 20, 2009 04:24:40 PM
I received my swap Wednesday and was only able to post today.  I received lots of goodies including cookies and candies, a notebook and notepad and this gorgeous little wallet sized bag to hold all of my easy to lose stuff!  It was a very awesome swap and I'm glad I had such a great partner!

Please excuse the quality of the pics; they were taken with my phone, which I though took better photos.

aw, i'm so sorry that the cookies arrived in crumbs.  Sad  they were in nice cookie shapes when i sent them; in fact the sugar cookies were heart shaped.  I'm really glad you liked everything, though!

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Beignet (fancy donuts) for Mardi Gras on: January 29, 2009 12:15:54 PM
i put icing on the large cinnamon rolls.  however, those tiny cinnamon rolls that come with pecans or something, i don't put icing on.  that would be a terrible thing.

now i want some of the cinnamon pecan rolls.  and i'm snowed in my apartment.  :*(

btw, the op's donuts look delish.
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sponging Questions. on: January 18, 2009 07:23:04 PM
ah, great and thanks!  I have yet to actually use stamps in any of my work because i'm a bit terrified of the cost that stamping will involve.  but i'm definitely going to try this technique.  again, thanks for the information!
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Sponging Questions. on: January 17, 2009 08:00:03 AM
So I did a search on the forum and found search results for "sponge" but nothing seemed to fit my question.  (in retrospect, i probably should've searched more terms such as "sponging" and "sponged") I also tried a google search for "scrapbooking sponge" with no good answers.  This is probably because i'm quite ... impatient and hate searching through answers of useless information with little hope that i'll find what i need.

My question is this:  I've seen several cards in the manner of the one at the link at the bottom of the page, but no one ever explains how to do them.  It's like an antique looking finish, the brown border.  I'm thinking that it's done with a sponge, but, as i said, i can't seem to confirm that anywhere or the techniques used.  Has anyone else done this or heard of this?

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Be Gentle, it's my first time... on: January 13, 2009 07:15:06 PM
This is my first post of my work, so I'm slightly nervous.  I've crafted several cards of late.  Most were done before christmas.

This last one I just whipped up this evening.  It's for my MIL's birthday.  I like it because it is fitting for her gift.  We bought her a gift card to tastebook.com.

There are pictures of two more cards in the gallery listed below, but they're rather fuzzy so I didn't want to post them here.  Comments and criticisms are very welcome!
