Sonjaboo and I did the one tiny bird swap and decided to do spoils aswell, I have posted my beautiful flamingo on the bird board and I am posting my spoils here. She sent me all these ribbons and buttons which will all be used! That white satin spotty ribbon will make its way into my pink sequin converse in the place of laces! I also got this most amazing flamingo fabric that will be made into a mors bag for work! All this was packaged in a beautiful flamingo tin and I gotta beautiful hand made flamingo card!

2  Re: One Tiny Bird Thing Swap (OTBT) GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by MiLady on: August 06, 2013 02:37:03 AM
It's not over yet! I received onSaturday, half way through my run of four fourteen hour shifts, I am now back in the real world, I've fallen asleep almost every night with my iPad on my face! My OH is getting really peeved with me!

Sonjaboo and I got on likea house on fire and as she said we did swap some extra supplies, but please see the personal swap gallery for my spoils.

I am obsessed by flamingos, I love their pinkness, their lankiness and how they are so different! Sonjaboo certainly delivered, unbeknown we swapped cross stitch goodies hahahaha! Here is my beautiful free hand stitched amazing pink flamingo HAIR CLIP!!!! I have also added a brooch pin because although I will wear this in my hair when I am off, I won't get away with it at work, so I will make a bag for work out of that beautiful fabric it was wrapped in which I will use for work and I will pin my beautiful flamingo to it when I can't wear him in my hair.

3  Re: Morsbag Round 2 Swap--GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by MiLady on: June 28, 2013 12:21:27 AM
Deathbeforedishes did receive my package much earlier in the week and said she would post pictures, but I'm guessing she must have been too busy. So, I'm going to post pictures on her behalf.
This is the morsbag I made

I made her daughters some shooting star bean bags I found something similar on her pintrest and tried to recreate them

And miniature morsbags for her daughters

A summery corsage bracelet for deathbeforedishes

My first crochet socks again for deathbeforedishes, I couldn't get a good picture without trying them on

A bow keying from the morsbag scraps

I received my delicious package from deathbeforedishes yesterday morning. I had to empty my morsbag for a photo shoot because I've already been using it, it is so me!

Look at my beautiful kath kidson inspired bag! With the morsbag logo too!

And for my spoils: a hand crafted shawl pin, some yummy Kool aid (which we can't get over here!) a crocheted scarf and headband in some beautiful soft wool!

Thankyou so so much you've been an awesome partner deathbeforedishes and I am still coveting most of your pintrest!

5  Re: Jar of Whimsies Rd 12 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MiLady on: May 05, 2013 06:52:53 AM
Wow! Absolutely adoring this gallery, I received from SewEnthusiastic yesterday and apologies for being totally rubbish, this week has been mega hectic, Wednesday was spent in London, Thursday and Friday I did 14hour shifts at work and then picked my uni friend up from the station and I've had people over since then for a christening yesterday for another uni friends baby. Whew. Now I finally have some peace and quiet to properly delve into my jar which by the way is amazing before I start 5 night shifts tonight!

The jar is by far my favourite feature of all. I am well known on craftster for my love of the little mermaid and all things Disney and this is going to stay precious to me for a very very long time!

Amazing, no? You can also see some of my juicy goodies in there, loads of beads and buttons and some delicious ribbons!
Anyone recognise these girls?

Oh yes she did!
And this girl is going on my ID badge

Now for some of those amazing goodies, I've picked out my absolute faves but honestly I love all of it, I just think my fianc will kill me if I get seed beads all over the carpet again!

Thankyou so much SewEnthusiastic, sorry I have been a bit slow this week, hope your package arrives soon.

6  Polka dot freebie dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by MiLady on: April 24, 2013 08:00:23 AM
Last pay day I rescued this beautiful cotton fabric from the bargain bin for the penny pinching price of 4. I am an absolute sucker for polka dots and I had envisioned a beautiful circle dress, but I clearly didnt have enough fabric for that dream. Instead I found this pattern via pintrest

I quickly printed it and cut the pieces, the pattern stated that seam allowances were not included and I didn't have quite enough fabric to cater for the 1inch seam allowances, but regardless I soldiered on, unfortunately the back bodice was not wide enough to fit me by a couple of inches. I was not deterred because I also I didn't have a 24" zip. Instead I mustered up this amazing lace ribbon I bought in a sale a few months back (a mere. 25p a metre...I bought the whole reel) and instead made a feature of the back.

I also didnt use the back darts and instead of pleating the skirt I gathered it because I know this is more flattering on me.

On to pictures, enjoy! I plan on wearing this to my friends babies naming ceremony in a couple of weeks :-)

After I took initial pictures I made a self cover button in the same fabric and created a hook and eye closure. This dress was made entirely from my stash.

If anyone else makes this dress I would advise interfacing on the lining pieces and to regularly try on the dress, I might make it again when I have money for some new fabric so that I have enough.

Thanks for looking, I know my sewing skills aren't the best and that my seams aren't perfect and my zip could be better but I hope that by continuing to try I will eventually get much better.

7  My stash busting picnic blanket vintage dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by MiLady on: April 21, 2013 03:15:04 PM
When I saw this post https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422519.0#axzz2R8ddHXQ3 I knew that I absolutely needed this dress pattern and quickly ordered it.

Anyway, I also have reached the end of the month and have no money so close to pay day and a whole day on my own at a weekend with nothing to do. I had been given this material by a family friend and I can only liken it to a picnic blanket, in honesty I hate it, but I felt that this pretty pattern could transform it and I was so right! I rescued a zip from a dress destined for the bin and I used scraps of iron on interfacing I had left over from other projects, this is only the fourth pattern I have ever used and I am pretty pleased with the result. My zip could be neater but I kind of like the imperfections. If I use this pattern again which I most definitely will then I will spread the gathering from the front skirt over a larger space as it makes me look a bit pregnant with a big poof  I front and I wil probably make this in satin for a wedding I am a guest at in December this year.

Notice my hand up cycled hanger too, that I crocheted over this weekend! I don't want to go back to work!

9  Patchwork wrapping paper in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MiLady on: April 02, 2013 06:47:37 AM
Ever get those really annoying bits of wrapping paper left over at the end of the pack or roll that never fit anything? Well, me too. This time of year is an expensive time for me with Mother's Day, Easter, mums birthday, my brothers birthday and my fiance's birthday all within a few weeks and at the moment we are really short of cash.

I didn't see the point of buying more paper when I had enough to wrap the last birthday present, it was just in pieces. I lined up the paper into a large square and taped it together with some "wrapped with love" tape that I had left over from Christmas and then wrapped the gift. I am quite pleased with the result and I used the remaining trimmed scraps to make a curly ribbon, just by using scissors to curl strips and some glue dots to attach. I know this isn't the most amazing or most skilled craft I have ever done, but I was so pleased with the effect I thought I would share. After all it's always the simple ideas that work the best.
