Wow!  This is nifty - I like the quote, and the edging fabric is cool.  I need one of these...

I just finished reading 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - these are great squid/octopi/tentacle-monsters!

That is beautiful!  Also, some of your weather has escaped.  It has is running amok down south.  Please repair your fences, and we will be happy to return it!   Wink

Thanks, all!  And graced, good for you!  And hopefully your son!  I think this will wind up as seasonal decoration - it is a touch depressing for year-round use.  Also I have a rather small home, and too much needlework quickly becomes... too much.  It's going to have to go on rotation.

This project was a long time in the works!  I picked the kit up on clearance, only to discover that someone had stolen the pattern and half the thread out of it.  I tried to re-create the pattern based on the photo, but wasn't happy with the coloring - I suspect there's some shading in the flowers that didn't come through.  At one point I tried contacting the company about the pattern, but they weren't any help.  Several years passed...

When I finally started it last July, I decided to stitch part of a Wilfred Owen poem in the center, instead of the original alphabet.  And then I got side-tracked working on gift-projects and life in general, and just got it finished.

I couldn't decide what to do with it, so for the time being it's in an IKEA frame.

Beautiful!  The stitching of her tabby coat is amazing.
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Nothing is impossible... on: January 01, 2011 09:49:37 AM
A quick project for a coworker.  She was assigned to help our office move ten years of accumulated paper, equipment, and personalities... and remained in good humor and possibly sane through the entire experience.

I've started slacking off on charting my projects.  For this one, I drew all the lettering in the right positions, but charted the tent-top somewhere else entirely, with two or three variants on the flags (none of which I used).  And I picked out the colors in advance, but not where to use them.  It still turned out pretty well!

That's excellent!  I like the different hoops too.
