1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Cascading blocks baby quilt on: June 06, 2010 11:00:42 AM
This is my interpretation of the Cascading Blocks pattern by Nanette Merrill.  The pattern appeared in Fons and Porter's Baby Quilts 2008 magazine.  I really fell in love with her pattern.  Cheesy

I really loved this fabric.

Sorry the photos are so dark.  Naturally I finished it the night before the baby shower, so I didn't have time to take photos in daylight!  Cheesy
I machine quilted a sun motif for the top and bottom border and rockets and comets in the squares.

Thanks for looking!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Applique sampler purse (lots of pics) on: February 06, 2010 07:11:28 PM
Hi Everyone!
I really admire all your purses. I finally completed a sampler applique purse that I started a year ago in a quilting class.  It's from a pattern by Faye Anderson.  Our teacher, Diane Lotspeich, does fantastic applique.  I was really lucky to have her as my teacher.

Here is the purse with my cat looking in amazement in that I actually finished it. Cheesy

Totoro helping prop up the flap to show the quilting.
Thanks so much for looking.  Cheesy
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Quilt along - Kaffe Fassett's Postcard Quilt Anyone? on: January 11, 2009 06:02:58 PM
Kaffe's Fassett's Postcard Quilt by Liza Prior Lucy from Kaffe's  "Quilt Road" book would be a great quilt along! Cheesy It's a medallion style quilt. !!
Hi - I edited this post to show the two finished quilt tops!!  Cheesy

If you have the book and would like to join me in tackling this project, it think it would be fun!  Cheesy

I was thinking we could do the center square the first month and then one border each month after that.

The quilt is pictured on p.36 and the instructions begin on p.96

Sorry, I couldn't find a link to a photo of a finished Postcard quilt.

Would anyone like to join along?

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / A "Toddler" Quilt on: September 09, 2007 11:01:48 PM
I made this quilt for my roommate's cousin's son, for his first birthday.

I spent weeks trying to locate more of the yellow fabric, but I bought it a few years ago and couldn't find any more yardage available anywhere.  I couldn't find any other yellow fabric that wasn't too feminine so I decided on the blue fabric for the border.

I machine quilted around all the pieces.
Then I quilted stars in the yellow squares and the red corner squares.

I quilted gentle waves on the borders.  I wanted to do curly waves, but that is when I discovered that I needed more practice free motion quilting.  :-)
