This swap is a use what you have kind of swap, while keeping the environment in mind. If you do buy something, buy it thrifted if possible. Tiny steps to becoming greener & remembering the three R's (reduce, reuse, recycle) will help our pretty little planet! Smiley Going green means using those three R's so use your stashes and scraps up, use those jars under your sink that you save when cooking, all those plastic bags stuffed into one plastic bag...use them! And of course have fun while doing it!!

- A DC# once you send your package, nothing is sadder then a lost package

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Pillow help??? on: February 18, 2008 06:37:01 AM
So I have these wonderfully soft and cushy dark brown leather sofas, I didn't pick these things I caved in because I get my way in every other aspect of decorating so I let the hubby have these without fussing. :p But the pillows that we have for them I absolutly LOATHE them, they are so ugly. I was wondering would a floral pillow to balance the manly-ness of the couch look alright? Not huge flowers but a small floral print. Or do you have any suggestions?

My living room is SO blank because we moved into a MUCH larger place and the artwork I use to have up looks silly on such HUGE walls Smiley
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / First sewing projects!! APRONS! on: February 18, 2008 06:30:16 AM
So I decided to take a stab (and yes I stabbed my poor fingers way too many to count) at sewing & borrowed my mother's machine. I did some pillowcases but those don't count, they were to practice my lines (which HAVE gotten a bit straighter YAY) Anyways I think it would be awesome to have an apron for everyday of the week and then some so I made myself a full & half apron. The half was the first one I made and the full I understood a bit more what I did. No patterns, just fun Smiley I think the full one look like a summer dress my husband got home just as I was doing the final try-on of the apron making sure it fit how it's supposed to and said "i thought you were making an apron not a dress" and then laughed when he saw the back was just a piece of ribbon :p

Anyways enough chit-chat I'm excited to present my aprons!!! Smiley What do y'all think for my first real sewing projects?

Oh this apron isn't as off looking in real life as it look in these pictures :p

:p Don't mind the dirty spare room

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Going Green Swap? on: February 18, 2008 05:36:42 AM
Have you or do you want to make this world a bit of a better place? I've been thinking of a going green swap that would be fairly cheap to do because the mass of it you could only use what you have already, you know you need to get rid of all that extra of yarn, felt, fabric, beads etc before raiding your favorite craft stores for the 3rd time this week Wink

It would a good chance to make shopping bags to help reduce on the amount of plastic/paper used. And reuse/recycle things you normally would throw out.

Anything you include in this swap would be something you saved from getting trashed  (sample), you using what you already have instead of buying new stuff, creating something to help the enviroment (like this), if you do buy something it has to be thrifted/used to cut down on waste. Smiley

What do y'all think of something like this?
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Photography Projects for 2008... (implied nudity) on: February 04, 2008 10:16:43 AM
so when 2008 came to be I looked back on 2007 and it seemed like a boring waste of a year. So I decided to pursue my crafts & hobbies more...maybe make some money off of them if possible.  Roll Eyes

I'm putting together some photography projects together & here are some shoots from January. Smiley Not a bad start to the year. I just wanted to share what I've been up to..and ask what y'all thought of these..I might turn these into blurb books. Smiley
