Wow! Shocked  Nice work!  I've always been too intimidated to really try re-upholstering.  I can slip-cover like crazy! Lol! But seeing this just shows me again that I really should try - it looks SO good!

WANT IT!  I lurve the design.

Thanks!   Grin

Very fun. That was a great idea to re-purpose the changing table. Your hand painted detail is really something wonderful.

Thank you so much!  I am a sucker for Etsy and checked out your page - your stuff is really nice!  I love the birds - too cute  Cheesy

This is absolutely fantastic. I can't believe it was a changing table. What a beautiful one-of-a-kind treasure! I love the paint job on it.

Thank you so much!

Awesome reuse! The paint job is what really gets me, though. I love the colors and the design.

Thank you! Thank you! Smiley

Thanks everyone!  Your sweet compliments mean so much!  Grin

As far as the design goes, it took me forever to settle on it.  My husband got me the cutest little striped cabinet for my birthday and it belongs in my kitchen, so I had to come up with something that coordinated with it because there is no way that I could make straight enough stripes to match it.  It also had to coordinate with my crazy kitchen walls! See https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=334525.msg3866905#msg3866905 <---this post.  My mom has this vintage recipe box that she keeps crayons in for her grandkids, and when my daughter was cleaning up her crayons one day I saw it and was like "that's it!" So, no, it's not my own design, though I had to flub it a little to get it to work on the dresser and switch up the colors a little so that it would match my birthday cabinet  Cheesy  You can see I printed out a picture, drew a grid on it and then my dresser, and penciled the design onto the dresser *trying* (but not doing well because I don't like boundaries- but that's another issue Cheesy) to stay with the crayon box pattern.

Thanks again everyone Smiley  You've made me smile this morning!! Grin

It's been a while since I've posted anything for my friends at Craftster, so I thought I'd share my latest project!

I turned an old changing table

Into a kitchen island!!

I am still tweaking around my kitchen, and decided I needed an island.  So for less than $100, this is what happened!

My measurements which were *close enough*  Wink

Sand, prime, draw, paint  Cheesy

Pick out a back that will be kids friendly and have the dudes at the home store cut it to size  Cheesy and screw on some casters  Cheesy

Stick on some mis-matched glass knobs  Cheesy

Talk your friend into building you a top  Cheesy and hang a towel rack in the convenient extra space on the sides  Cheesy

Stand back and enjoy  Cheesy

I think it's happier than the table and stuff that I had posted on here before.  I know I'm happier!

So what do you think??
