Because I had scraps and baby girl loves shorts...and I love tutus...and a rockin' compromise came to be today, so I thought I would share. My little girl is such a rocker:-)

p.s. the tutu are attached to the shorts, in case it wasnt abundantly obvious.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Tutti Frutti For Isabella! [now with pics!] on: May 19, 2009 09:43:34 AM
So, I have a ton of the Tutti Frutti spring collection from Joann's, thanks to my mom. So I set about turning it into summer clothes for my wee girl. here are two of the outfits..I have one more about to be finished and still yards and yards of various fun fabric, oops!

the strawberry one is pants and a top, witha ribbon tie. i saw them on ehre and was inspired. i love ribbons!

the yellow is 3  pieces, the headband, a tank top and a skirt done like a petticoat. i used tulle and made super tight ruffles on the edges to make that look. my family went ga-ga over those ruffles, lol. Even my husband was making cooing noises over how cute it looked on our baby girl.

i can't post pics yet so here are links. i guess i better work on posting so i can add pics easier! comments welcome!

trying to see if pics will work now:

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / how to make ruffle bum bloomers? on: January 19, 2009 09:55:23 AM

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Question about following patterns...(pic added!) on: January 15, 2009 06:37:34 PM
This is probably a dumb question, but I have only been sewing with a machien since November and I have never bought a pattern before. So, I bought Simplicity pattern 3656. I attempted to make the xs size, the second smallest size. I had copied the pattern onto patternease to cut it out and use, since I don't consider myself a pro and didn't wnat to waste the money if i messed up.

Well, I did mess up, but I can't imagine how, lol. The whole thign came out beautiful, and looks how i wanted...i even added my own flair to it..BUT it can fit my 13 month old son (it's a dress) and it was supposed to be size 3 months. everything looks proportioned to me and on my son, well , he looked beautfiul, lol. (i only put it on him to show my husband what i was talking about with it being so big)

how does this happen? what can i do? please don't call me a dummy! oh, i will try to add a picture if i can tomorrow, my camera stinks os i have to wait until it's nice and bright out.
