1  Re: funky black purse swap - pictures! in The Swap Gallery by thequeenjane on: May 05, 2005 08:18:38 PM
Yes I did take pics!

Here is the bag I sent.  She said she liked 1930s style bags, so I used my handy, A Century of Bags to look up cool designs.  So this is what I came up with:

And the back:

And here is the original Elsa Schiaparelli I based it on:

And now to the purse she sent me.  She researched me on the site and found out that I like to study Lady Jane Grey.  Just a little history refresher to those who don't know; Lady Jane was queen of England for 9 days in 1553.  Really obscure historical figure but I love to get my hands on anything to do with her.  You may have notice my screen name...
Anyways she made me this incredible cilyndrical bag out of this sparkly black fabric, and the best part?  It's covered in different pictures of Lady Jane!!

I love it so much!  Thank you! Thank you!  Thank you!

And now on to some pictures.....

2  Re: Hello Kitty Addicts Swap Pics... in The Swap Gallery by thequeenjane on: April 21, 2005 07:33:40 PM
Sorry, I got my stuff awhile ago, but it was all confusing when I moved a couple of weeks ago.  I finally unpacked the other day and took pictures.

I got a cool journal, and the cover is removable, so once I fill all the pages I can still have a cool Hello Kitty book!  Inside it has places for extra papers and a bookmark holder complete with bookmark.  I also got some cute stickers with it.  Thank you!

And here is what I sent to Second Star to the Right, since she didn't get to post pics...

The stationary and colouring book I got when I lived in Japan.  Even the pattern is from a Japanese craft magazine that I read at the library when I was supposed to be in class....(Technically it was studying since it took a lot of effort to read the Japanese instructions.  Much more interesting than a history or calculus textbook!)

I got my stuff from grasshopper the other day.  I was so spoiled!!  The stuff she sent me is incredible.  Thank you so much!!

Some awesome button earrings which went immediately from the box to my ears...

An adorable pillow with hedgehogs, which is perfect cause I just got a daybed and I want to load it up with comfy pillows...

And my favorite, a super fuzzy moose blanket.  I spent all night curled up in it.  It's so awesome!!

I finally got my frame from emerald6 last week.  Thank you so much!  I really like it.  You managed to combine several of my favorite things....Bright colours and shiny things!  I love it.....Now the hard part: trying to decide which picture gets the honour of being displayed in it!

So I got my package from angelwing75 the other day and I was absolutely flabbergasted!  I so did not deserve all the goodies she sent me.  Things just kept on coming and coming out of the box.  It was like Christmas!  And I can't beleive the care she put into everything.  She even made Magic Box labels for everything.  Just amazing!

Here's a pic:

I got.....

- A cool hot pink purse, with an iron on of Angel and Buffy on it
- 2 sparkly wrist cuffs with amazing beads on them (Protection Cuffs - These magically delicious cuffs guard against the spells of the evil)
- Little wooden painted dolls of Buffy, Xander, Willow, Spike and Angel
- Some "Terrifying Bunny Stickers", complete with "Nightmare Warning!"
- A kintted "Neck Protector - Save your neck from fatal vamp bites and keep warm at the same time"
- A Buffy Mix CD
- A vial of "Mystical Beads"
- A set of 9 Buffy marble magnets in a cool tin
- A "Mystical Bookmark - Save your page in those dusty old tomes with an ancient mystical ribbon bookmark"
- A pair of "Black Frost" bottlecap earrings
- A ball of yarn (the same wonderfully soft yarn the Neck Protector was made out of) in Vamp Red
- A pair of "Vintage Magic Box Slayer Knitting Sticks - There's no better way to kill time while waiting to kill baddies than whipping up a hot new sweater with pointy little sticks"
- A painted black mini jewelry box, with red and white beads on the top
- A red and black jewelry set with gothic crosses (earrings, a choker and a bracelet)

Anyways, angelwing75, thank you again!  This has got to be one of the best swaps ever!!!

8  Re: Deuces Wild Flower Pin Swap Round 3 in The Swap Gallery by thequeenjane on: March 15, 2005 11:09:53 PM
I got my pin from gaiter_girl the other day!  I absolutely love it.  Thank you so much.  And I totally love the fact that it's hot pink!  It's knitted, and then the centre is all beaded.  Plus she added wire to the petals so that they are all curvy.  It rocks!!

9  Re: Purse of Any Kind Swap Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by thequeenjane on: March 15, 2005 11:07:10 PM
I just wanted to post a picture of the bag that I sent to Chillychick.  I was just so proud of it...it's the most professional thing I've made so far.  Plus it doesn't hurt that it's a Marilyn purse.  I love Marilyn Monroe!!

10  Jewelery out of hardware!! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by thequeenjane on: February 15, 2005 11:46:36 PM
So anyways, last year I was in the hardware store with my dad, and as usual I was wandering around the aisles looking for any weird stuff I could find that could possibly have other uses...When I came to the washers.  For some strange reason I love washers!  Strange.  Anyways, I was reminded of some earrings that I had seen on the GirlShop website that I had really liked.  So as a true craftster, I decided to make them myslef.  And for about 150$ cheaper!

So here they are.  I call them my disco earrings...

I bought six washers and then asked my dad to drill the holes in them for me.  (I can just see it, if I tried drilling through metal myself.....let's just say it would be ugly and the drill would kick my butt!).  Then I just used jump rings to attach them together.

I absolutely love these things!  The only problem is that they are EXTREMELY heavy.  It took some practice wearing them before I could actually go out with them.  (Think of them like a new pair of heels you have to break in before you wear them...)  I can wear them out for an evening, but definitely not an everyday earring.

...Just thought I would share.  Hope you like!
