I saw all the Beatle fabric that is out, and I must make a skirt too!  I am very impressed, seeing as you just started sewing recently.  I can see why you got so many compliments!

And I love that you did it "with a little help from my friends".  Was that intentional? Wink

and of course that was intentional! Wink

So, I got all excited over these.  when you make another pair;  would you be willing to do a detailed tutorial by chance?  I'm fairly new to sewing, but as I said...these are the perfect idea for a burlesque number I was plotting for Sgt. Pepper Wink

Alright, so a week ago.  My husband and I went to Vegas for my birthday.  We'd gotten a killer deal from The Mirage as we've stayed there before.  2 night stay and 2 tickets to The Beatles LOVE for $300.  Both of us are HUGE fans.  So, we planned to see the show, then hit The Revolution Lounge.

Me, being the tomboy I am realize, well crap...jeans aren't going to work.  I can be fashionable when I want to and (with a little help from my friends) made this fab skirt and finished the day before we left!  I just started sewing this November and it's mostly been tshirt reconstructions, so this was my first full project!  I'm very pleased and got loads of compliments while in Vegas!

I'm not used to being girly..and wasn't actually trying to be (my knee was bugging me a bit), but it seems to work in my advantage in the photo!

and because I'm a total geek...I have to post this.  I'm a Paulie girl and that's his original Hofner violin bass.  WANT!!!

Love the psychedelic fabric, and great tute, is it a full sized top hat?

It's actually medium/mini.  it attaches with the lil elastic (I've worn it for a few different shows and it's worked fab!)

Awesome. I am totally going to try it. The only hat I've made so far is a pirate hat for halloween. This one looks promising.
Does your dog like to lay on fabric whenever you spread it out? My dog always makes herself comfortable as soon as I start sewing.

So, I go a couple months without checking craftster....ooops.

Anyway, yep my dog and cat do that to just about every fabric I spread out.  makes it a little hard to cut!

HA!  Really?  I'm mainly with Twin Titties...I have danced with Midnight Muse Review.  I go by Ginny Tonic, I probably performed White Rabbit as it's really the only dark number I have!
