I've received from Starryeyeddiy and JacquelineD and I'm SO PSYCHED!

I love owls, and both my partners caught onto that! I'm sure it wasn't hard, as my wist is loaded with them... lol

So this is the hoop Starryeyeddiy sent me:

So cute! I think its a portrait of my fiance and I  Wink

And this is the hoop JacquelineD sent:

I love the cross-stitch... and of course the owl! I really love the oval hoop! I looked for some while I was supply hoarding, but couldn't find any...

Everything is really awesome! and I'm sorry to my partners for posting a bit late...

3  Re: I <3 Owls Swap Gallery Sendouts 6/7/10 in The Swap Gallery by heatherweather33 on: June 11, 2010 07:47:34 PM
Here are the images of the package I received from brielauren!!!

I'm sorry they're so late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I'm not sure what the etiquette is about images in these posts, but I'm going to post details of most of it, but I don't want to

Off to it then:
Here's a group shot showing (i hope I didn't miss anything, I've been using everything and had to do a round up to get it all together!)

I love everything she sent! I think my favorite thing is the clasp-top clutch! It was SO WELL MADE and adorable and perfect. Seriously. I keep my Ipod, its cords and things in it!... and there's plenty of room!

And check out the two framed pieces in the back! (left) Needle punched owl, (right) awesome painting with owl silhouette!

The Salt and Pepper shakers are awesome too, and I have to admit, it took me a while to realize they were an "s" and "p"... with those are a mug and hair clip, both of which I haven't stopped using!

(sorry for the picture quality  Undecided )

The necklace (top) and bracelet (bottom) I've been wearing everyday, and have been getting a ton of compliments on!

My dog was FREAKISHLY excited about this pillow when I unwrapped it, so I've made sure not to share the cuteness with his thieving paws...
The fabrics she used on this were super adorable (and soft)!!

I'm looking forward to using the notecards she made, but I kind of don't want to have to give them away to other people...

Then there is the bag I've been carrying all of my schtuffs in, (Including the owl clasp clutch)

So I lied, I think this might be my favorite: OWL SEWING KIT! I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that SHE MADE THIS!

Whoa, right?! Now, Let me show you the back:

I keep it in my bag in case I need to fix my clothes, but mostly so I can show anyone I talk to...

Lastly (i think) is this tiny little book she bound that has a bunch of fold outs in it that are all owl facts!

Here's a shot of the fold out:

So cool, I know.

I am amazed with everything she sent me! I love everything and she got my tastes down to a T! Even down to the tags she put on everything!

I just sat here for a few minutes trying to think of more to say, and I'm pretty much speechless, so I'll stop rambling now... haha

4  Owl tchotchke: watercolor in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by heatherweather33 on: February 10, 2010 07:10:20 AM
I made this fun little tchotchke thing yesterday because classes were cancelled due to snow.

Inspired by old school tattoo flash and boredom.

Drawn onto watercolor paper, lined with micron, then filled with watercolor...

Thanks for having a look-see!

5  $1 desk from Salvation Army - refinished! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by heatherweather33 on: January 11, 2010 08:04:54 PM

Over the summer I bought a desk from Salvation Army for ONE DOLLAR! I was really psyched about getting it home and giving it a make-over....
It has a really unique shape about it, with no plain straight edges around the top!

It took me a whole day of sanding, and another whole day of painting, but I finished it!

I'm really happy with how it turned out... it's currently my sewing table in my bedroom, but when I move into my new apartment, it will be the hallway table on which will probably be a mail sorter, a dish to put keys in and whatnot.
I plan on collecting a bunch of mismatched furniture and forcing it to match by painting it with the same paint.

Thanks for having a look!

6  Re: How do I make this dress less ugly? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by heatherweather33 on: January 04, 2010 08:51:15 PM
I agree with everyone else... definitely shorten it!

You could apply embellishments from the neckline into the straps... Maybe a combination of:

I think that could be really cute!
You could do it crocheted, or a smocked piece in a contrasting fabric...

7  Monsters take horrible pictures! [inchies] in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by heatherweather33 on: August 03, 2009 07:18:36 PM
So I've been thinking of making some inchies for a while, because they're all just so darn cute! I've really enjoyed all of the inchies people have been posting!

Tonight I finally sat down and got started on some!
I graphed out the lines on some scrap watercolor paper I have, and cut them apart.... When I started looking at some of the squares I had made, I noticed the blocks and blobs of color looked like little monsters who had taken some haphazard pictures! So, I used a hole-punch and made some eyes, glued them on and inked some details to complete what I thought they looked like...

Enough of my babbling... here are the wee-monsters:

Sorry that's blurry... =/

I think the crabby looking one on the upper right is my favorite... but I also really like the one with purple yarn hair...

I didn't make many, because I just wanted to try my hand at it... but I do really like them!
Next time though, I think I'll work with more depth and texture!

Well, thanks for having a look!

8  Scarf-y thing in Crochet: Completed Projects by heatherweather33 on: July 13, 2009 11:05:05 AM
Not being a fan of the warm summer weather, I made this scarf in anticipation of cooler weather!
Its really loosely done in a double crochet, and I kind of pleated it to get a bunched look, and attached a button to  hold it around my neck.
I didn't do very much planning before starting this, or even as I went along... but it works  Wink

Button end, with only one pleat thing:

Other end, with two pleat things:

I want to make another, but next time I think I'll plan it out a bit more.... and do a tighter stitch.

Thanks for looking
c+c are always welcome!

9  Headband/Earwarmer inspired by fellow Craftster! in Crochet: Completed Projects by heatherweather33 on: July 12, 2009 05:44:11 PM
I found this post a short bit back: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=311841.0 and thought it was absolutely adorable, so I made myself one!

I only know one stitch; i believe its called a double crochet [?]... But this is the first thing I've made that I'm excited about and proud of! Its my first attempt at increase/decrease and button holes... not perfect, but hopefully that will come with practice!

Oh, and the yarn is much more purple than it appears in these silly pictures...

Awkward self-taken picture:

The piece laid out alone:

Thanks for having a look...
c+c always welcome!!

10  Silly Wooden Wall Tchotchke in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by heatherweather33 on: May 28, 2009 04:28:16 PM
The school year was especially rough this year, leaving me absolutely no time to craft in any manner/medium/material.

Now that I have time, there will be more crafting.

I went out today and bought a wood burner, and some unfinished pieces of wood, and this is my first wood burned piece!

to change your image viewing settings please click here

All the line work is wood burned, and the color is watercolor, except for the black border which is acrylic. I wasn't too sure how this would end up, since I've never wood burned before, but I really like it! I looked to old school tattoo flash for some inspiration, and couldn't resist the subtle snarky remark on the ribbon  Wink

C+C always welcome! Thanks for having a look!
