1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / The Greatest Showman Costume on: October 27, 2018 02:38:17 PM
My son had to have a costume for our local Halloween Parade.  He was marching with the band.  Their half time show this year was centered around the theme song from "The Greatest Showman", so what else would he dress up as but a circus ringmaster? I bought a red blazer from Salvation Army and added black felt on the arms.  I added gold sequin trim around the arms and gold buttons.  I lined the lapel with gold cording.  He needs to wear this costume again, so I think I'm going to add black shoulders with gold fringe around them.  It took us about two hours to put this together, I thought it turned out pretty good.

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Family Photos Altered Canvas on: June 10, 2011 10:31:35 AM
This is my favorite kinds of scraping project to do because instead of being in a book it gets to hang on the wall where I can see it all the time.  I've always done these as gifts before, this is the first one I made for myself.  All the photos are in sepia tone.  Its embellished with stickers and all the photos are mounted on foam squares for a 3-D affect.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Advent Elf on: December 02, 2010 08:06:27 PM
I just finished this advent elf for my sister.  I'm giving it to her tomorrow.  I thought it would be so fast and easy, lol!  I feel like I have a little piece of myself in this thing.  I used the tutorial by Calamity Kim, but I did alot of it in my own way (like gluing the pockets on, lol!).

This is him in the beginning stages.  He really creeped my kids out.  I had him sitting on the couch and my daughter went to the kitchen for a drink during the night, he was quite startling, lol!

He is holding a bag with 25 on it:

4  COOKING / Dessert / Turkey Cookies on: December 01, 2010 08:08:43 PM
I made these cute little turkey cookies for Thanksgiving for my son's classes.  Me and my three kids made 45 in about 1 1/2 hours.  They are sitting on a gingersnap, the body is a peanut butter cup, the head is a whopper, the backside is an oreo with candy corn stuck in for the tail feathers.  Everyone loved them.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Vintage 50s McCall Dress on: November 02, 2010 08:31:50 PM
I made this dress for my daughters first dance.  I used a vintage reproduction pattern from McCalls.  I got the fabric on the clearance table at Walmart for $2/yard! The only thing I'm not 100% pleased with is how we pulled it up a little further up in the front to prevent cleavage from showing and it made the bust part not lay quite right.  The only problem I had was with the zipper, it took me 3 tries.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Christian Themed Christmas Ornament Swap? on: October 03, 2010 10:47:13 AM
Would anyone be interested in doing an ornament swap with a Christian theme.  Angels, nativities, crosses, ect?
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Organ grinder Monkey on: July 18, 2010 03:01:56 PM
Found this little guy playing in the tree in my front yard.  Wonder who he belongs to?  He is very friendly and cuddly! Lol!

The first photo most accurately shows his face.  There is too much flash on it in the second pic and it looks odd.  But I wanted to include the second pic so you could see his body in full.  I made this from a pattern my hubby bought me in Ohio Amish Country.  For this first try I just used felt.  But he can be made from felted wool or polar fleece.

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Mehndi and Poison freezer paper stencils on: June 15, 2010 02:21:07 PM
I did these two shirts for the t-shirt swap here.

The first is inspired by mehndi designs.  The large design on the front was partial freezer paper stencil, I did the leaves by hand.  And the design across the back was all free hand except the lotus in the middle.

This one is based on the 80's album cover "Look What the Cat Drug In" by Poison.  This one caused a major migraine!

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Baskets on: May 19, 2010 03:56:00 PM
I made these cute little paper baskets for my son's preschool teachers.  I filled them with little cupcake bites.  They were really simple to make.  You can find the tut here: http://stamptv.ning.com/video/gift-basket-part-1

10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Panda Wallhanging on: May 19, 2010 03:29:33 PM
I'm not sure if you consider this a quilt or not.  My swap partner wanted a wall hanging and she loves pandas, so this was the result.  This is the first time I have ever attempted something like this.  It was so much fun!  I love all the texture I was able to incorporate in it.  I did a machine satin stitch around the larger pieces and sewed on the smaller by hand.  I found the black material in the remnant bin at Hobby Lobby, I love it.  It was actually my mom's advice to use the faux fur.  I have had the fur for a long time, I got it at an auction.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
