My bf gave me a shark tooth that he wants me to make into a necklace for him. Is there anywhere you guys know of where I can find patterns for necklace making and wrapping the tooth itself to make it stay?

if you google, you'lll find a lot of pictures ...

New Look 6310 looks like it might do the trick.

or if you're looking for something free, there is a 0-3 jumpsuit pattern and a 3-6 wrap dress pattern here. maybe you can adapt them to get what you want?

thank you!   perfect!  Cheesy

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / waldorf doll and knot doll. on: January 29, 2007 09:14:40 AM
i made my little redhead a waldorf doll for christmas this year.  he's always running of with his sister's doll, so he needed one of his own.  i also made him the sleeper he's wearing & a night cap.  i embroidered the hair.  more pictures can be seen here - http://picasaweb.google.com/impromptukiss/WaldorfDollProgress

i also just made a couple knot dolls/teethers for a couple babies due in a few weeks.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: ugly kids beach chair - to cozy bedroom chair! on: August 31, 2006 03:45:50 AM
Thanks everyone!   Grin

I just used some polyester & cotton quilt battings I had laying around & folded them a buch.  I put a few stitches through them to keep them secure while I putthe fabric on.  I wasn't going to to the arms, but then it just looked weird, so I wrapped them in the quilt batting, too.

It doesn't close anymore, but I don't mind, we're not taking it anywhere.  Wink  It's way too puffy to close now, lol.
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ugly kids beach chair - to cozy bedroom chair! on: August 29, 2006 04:10:52 PM

my first sorta-kinda-almost upholstery project, lol.

most people who know me, know i loathe character junk.  my kids don't see much tv, so they couldn't care less what is on their chairs, cups, and clothes.

a couple summers ago, we were at the beach and needed a beach chair for my then 1 year old, kayleigh.  it was slim pickin's between pooh or dora.  the lesser of the evils, dora, won, and we used the chair once, and then it stayed upstairs in the house never to see sunlight again.

i got some michael miller fabric in a cute print - candy dots.  i was going to make curtains for kayleigh, but didn't have enough fabric .. then i spotted that old ugly chair!  this project was a BEAR to do without an upholstery needle!  my husband ended up bending a regular needle a bit for me last night, and it was much easier to finish that way!
