31  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Circular Saw Clock on: December 23, 2004 03:37:01 AM
I made this clock for my dad for Father's day back in '01.  The hardest part, actually, was smiling sweetly when the cashier informed me that a circular blade "was not a frisbee, dear."

The clock mechanism was spaced with various washers, and the hour demarcations were done with gold bolts (for contrast on the silver saw).

32  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Cotton Knit Sweater? on: December 15, 2004 05:57:28 PM
Has anyone knitted a sweater out of cotton yarn? Say, for example, Lion's Brand Kitchen Cotton, or Sugar'n Cream? If so, how did it work?  What are the advantages/disadvantages of trying to knit a garment in/with that particular yarn?
33  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Beer Bottle Lamp Sans Glassdrilling on: December 11, 2004 09:59:54 AM
Here is my version of the beer bottle lamp.  I didn't have the desire to drill through glass, so I decided to split the lampwire, and crisscross the wires around the body of the bottle and secure them on the bottom with gaffer's tape.

34  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Double Knot Stitch Help on: December 11, 2004 09:33:24 AM
I want to create this stitch: http://www.wonderful-things.com/newcrochet4.htm (the stitch at the bottom of the page, that resembles a net.)

The instructions given do not help me at all. Can anyone provide me with a clearer tutorial?
35  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Edging? on: December 10, 2004 07:15:48 PM
Does anybody have any crocheted edging patterns?  I'm thinking of making a tank out of old sheets, and I think they'd look nice with a crocheted/thread edging.  (Maybe for the straps, too? She ponders.)
36  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Ping Pong Balls on: December 07, 2004 08:10:21 PM
A pack of six, but I broke one.

So I have five ping pong/table tennis balls.  Any ideas?
37  UNITED STATES / Connecticut / Paper Stores? on: November 25, 2004 08:02:12 AM
Does anyone know of any good paper stores in CT?
38  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Polaroid Transfer How-To on: November 21, 2004 10:45:09 AM
I was curious how one (an amateur, that is, with only a very basic Polaroid camera) would go about making Polaroid transfers.  I've heard about them and they seem intriguing, but can't quite seem to find instructions that aren't for people who have fancy Polaroid equipment.

(Also, if anyone does any other Polaroidcraft, I'd love to hear. I have a few packs of film left =)
39  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Small Kitchen Pot on: November 20, 2004 09:10:29 PM
I've got a small stovetop pot that has been destroyed.  Rather-- it is no longer suitable for cooking, but the entire body is intact.

Aside from turning it into a planter (and planting a small plant in it) what else could I do with this?
