1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / creepy! wooden letters on: October 15, 2013 09:38:26 PM
i made these letteres for mthrasher138 in the mini 13 days of halloween swap! this is the first time i've ever done a paper craft and i was quite pleased with the results! Michael's only had half of the letters i needed in black so i had to spray paint a few before i got started. i used modge podge vintage finish!

if you can't tell what the papers are..
c - skulls and crossbones
r - bats
e - a haunted house and ghosts
e - spiders
p - spiderwebs
y - skeletons

i wish i'd taken a better photo of them!
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Frankenstein and His Bride amis on: October 15, 2013 03:03:40 PM
I made these Frankenstein and His Bride amis for mthrasher138 in the mini 13 days of halloween swap!

at first I made them both square shaped but frankensteins bride looked like she got the top of her head shaved off so i ripped out the top and made her a rectangle!

I'm glad I did because my favorite part about them ended up being her hair!

they were hard to send away, i'll have to make myself another set  Cheesy
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / how to create a door in an open doorway? on: April 18, 2013 01:01:24 PM
i'm going to try to explain this as best as possible and add photos later if needed  Roll Eyes

i'm moving into a new apartment where i will be getting a room that used to be used as a second living room and has no door. however, there is an open doorway that is slightly larger than a regular door. my question to you is if you have any ideas of how to block my room off? i don't want to just hang a curtain as i would like some thing that has slightly more sound proofing abilities and if any way possible i would like to be able to lock the "door" when i'm not home to keep nosey roommates out.

any suggestions?

4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / page 10 won't load on: June 25, 2010 12:40:29 AM
this seems to only happen to me late at night but i've been noticing it a lot. when i look at the 'recent with picture' posts, page 10 never opens. and sometimes page 9 only loads half way. like so:

*cough* ignore miley's face creepin around the corner  Roll Eyes
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Felted Jacket (img heavy) on: May 15, 2010 08:00:34 AM

I made this jacket for my final project for fiber class. i learned a tonnn while making this, i had to use many techniques that i had never tried!

first, i went to a 'fiber farm'. i drooled the whole time i was there! but i shaved some sheep, then used these cool machines to make large pieces of wool that i could work with:

then, i learned to dye the wool. and then how to felt! (i wound up with a needle lodged in my finger nail, it's slowly coming out!) i probably felted for 50 hours or more, it took me ages. sorry for terrible photos, all i have atm is my phone to take pictures!

the front:

whole thing:

and how the inside looked:

i'm veryyy proud of this jacket. it fits me perfectly!! it's the first time i've ever used a pattern (one that pseudo_pix made me  Cheesy) i altered it a lot but i like how it came out.

comments please Cheesy

(i didn't know if this should go in fiber arts or sewing! move if needed!)

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / death by needles! on: February 03, 2010 04:46:13 PM
i made this for a costume class at school. it's a ball of yarn getting stabbed with knitting needles. it's symbolic of a human, hence the colors i choose  Wink

it's chicken wire for the base, then paper mache, then i painted it red so you would see the "blood" underneath a bit, then i covered it in yard.

close up of entry wound. i sprayed the needles (sculpted cardboard) with red paint to look like blood spatter. than strung a ton of red yarn to look like blood was oozing everywhere.

close up of exit wound.

i know the pics are terrible but they're all i've got! c&c please  Smiley
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / resin and plugs question on: January 01, 2010 05:50:44 PM
i really want to try my hand at filling plugs with resin. i've never worked with resin before though so i'm scared i'm going to mess up. my question is, once resin sets is it in there for good or can you some how take it out? because tunnels are quite expensive and i don't want to waste them!
