11  Re: psychobilly/horror punk swap gallery of ghoulish delights! in The Swap Gallery by Meggers on: April 15, 2009 04:06:52 PM
Grousewater sent me such an amazing package! Totally hit me dead on with this stuff.

First there is a record clock with awesome coffin numbers. On the label she scratched out Violins and wrote violence and Rogers and Hammerstein and wrote zombies and craftster. This is so funny because I was actually thinking about making myself a record clock!

Next is an adorable green leopard pin cushion with anatomical hearts and bones pin cushions. How cute are they?! This will get lots of use. I can't believe she hand sewed it all!

She made me AWESOME shrinky dinks. She stalked me good and found out my favorite things. I can't get over the Linnea Quigley! She has her studded bikini, chainsaw and everything! There is a cute bride of frankie with green streak in her hair, creature from the black lagoon, and a butcher knife.

I can't over this one, a glass mason jar with Nekroman etched on it! It is full of candy and popcorn for a movie night.

And finally a painting of a zombie swallow! How cool is this?! I already know right where it is going to go. And the green colors match my bedroom walls perfectly!

Grousewater, thank you so much! This has been such an awesome first swap.

12  Re: psychobilly/horror punk swap {CLOSED} in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Meggers on: April 06, 2009 04:41:49 PM
Aw he's a cutie.
Mines the same way, always up in my business. I have to paint in the other room or there will be little paint paw prints everywhere.
I decided after quite a few unpleasant fellows that I will never date a man that my cat hates again. She knows what is good for me.

13  Blue Flower Purse My First Time With Handles! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Meggers on: March 10, 2009 01:09:54 AM
So this was my first time using handles for my purses as opposed to fabric straps. It came out better than I expected but I did manage to sew them in a little off center.
The fabric is one I found in the remnant bin at Joanns and it is lined with plain white muslin. The handles are a real pretty teal blue plastic and it closes with white velcro. It is interfaced for some extra sturdiness with peltex 70.

14  Red Glitter vinyl and Zebra Laptop/Carry All in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Meggers on: March 09, 2009 12:13:12 AM
To match my wallet I posted before I decided to make a matching laptop carry all bag.
The wallet- https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=293403.msg3336076#msg3336076
Its huge its shiny and it almost killed me. Took me about 5 hours spanned over 2 days. Did I mention it was all my own pattern? Yeah that was just a blast to draw haha. I had so many problems with it, broke 3 needles one of which flew at my face and almost killed me I swear, I almost chopped the top of my finger off thank god it didnt go deep enough, and the zipper was the biggest paint in the ass ever. Its not as crooked as it looks in the pictures, it likes to roll in at the seams because I was lazy and didn't sew in any piping.. I still need to add velcro to the outer pockets and I havent even sewn the lining in yet, I wanted to just show it off and take a break for a while haha.

15  Red Glitter vinyl and Zebra long wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Meggers on: February 21, 2009 02:29:07 PM
Well I jumped on the wallet bandwagon. Used this wonderful tutorial http://elily00.wordpress.com/tutorials/wallet/ I am pretty proud of it. It was totally a pain in the butt to sew but I managed to finish it. It was my first big sewing project of the type, I'm used to dabbling in smaller easier stuff. I'm working on a pattern for a matching laptop/carryall bag and a smaller bowling style bag as well. I forgot to snip my loose threads before I took my pictures. Ignore my messiness. Wink I'm so jealous of you guys who can take such gorgeous pictures of your work. I don't put enough effort into it. Just point and shoot and hope my creation ended up at least partially in the picture.

16  Get organized! Jail House Rock inspired closet door organizer in CHALLENGE 35 ENTRIES by Meggers on: February 04, 2009 02:12:16 PM
Not only is this my first challenge entry but it is my first Craftster show off as well. Posting more is another resolution of mine. Tongue

After a long night of boredom, lots of Elvis, and a very big mess the Jail House Rock closet organizer was born. I don't know the exact measurements but let me tell you it is bigger than I am. The backing is interfaced black duck cloth. The pockets up top are separated into 4 pockets and 2 pockets to hold all my miscellaneous other things. The shoe pockets are what really killed me. They took forever, each pocket is a rectangle with an arch shaped piece sewn to the bottom and the attached. All together there are 16 shoe pockets, 4 rows of 4.  It was originally supposed to hang off of one of those over the door hook deals but after all the work was said and done I gave up and nailed it to the closet door itself. So without further ado I present to you The Jail House Rock closet organizer.

Sorry if the pictures aren't that great, my camera was acting shoddy. And of course it had to pick up all my dangling uncut thread. Tongue
