781  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: The Mockturtle on: October 19, 2008 06:49:33 PM
Oh my gosh, that is the most adorable thing I have ever seen! I absolutely love it!

ETA: It looks to be fairly decent-sized in the pictures, but how big is it really? Also, how did you make the shell? Was it just a lot of circles stitched together (as my sister thinks) or is it one or two larger pieces?

783  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / 3 Amigurumi- Jeff Hardy, Abby Sciuto, Dean Winchester [slightly img heavy] on: October 19, 2008 06:21:43 PM
So I found this pattern for making human amigurumi's and I made a couple of my own. They're all made out of worsted weight yarn with an F hook (or somewhere around there, I think i used a slightly larger one for some of them).

First up is Jeff Hardy. Yes, as in Jeff Hardy from the WWE. His hair is a bit messed up, since I didn't know how to do hair at this point.

He was the first one I made and, since I tried to follow the pattern but messed up somewhere. Thus, his back is a bit... off.

Next, is Abby Sciuto, from NCIS. She's going to be my little sister's Christmas present.

I made the skirt separately, so I wouldn't have such a hard time with the ruffles. The lab coat I made separately as well.

Unfortunately, the coat doesn't fit correctly over the skirt ruffles.

Last is Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I'm not so sure how he turned out, but my older sister likes him (and since he's gonna be part of her Christmas present, that's all that matters, right?)

My older sister made him the belt and what I think is supposed to be a gun.

Oh, and just a note, I modified the pattern for the last two, since I wasn't sure where I messed up in the Jeff Hardy one and I wanted one with a slightly smoother-looking back. The arms in the last two are slightly larger and actually stuffed as well.

I'm also planning on making a Matt Hardy one, a Sam Winchester one, and a Captain Jack Sparrow one. When I'm finished I'll probably post those pictures here too. Smiley

Oh, those are so cute! The hedgehog on the tire swing is probably my favorite, but I love them all!

Oh wow, those look awesome! The beading looks great, especially the green!

I agree with what TheMistressT and HandsyMalone have already said about pricing. You just need to balance the cost of materials and know the market (and make sure you don't overprice them).
787  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: borg costume (homecoming week) on: October 17, 2008 06:43:32 PM
Oh wow, that's great! I absolutely love it! We have themes for the days leading up to our homecoming too, but nothing that could've produced something as awesome as this (blue and gold day for us, woohoo)!
788  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Steampunk air pirate costume! Yar! on: October 17, 2008 06:36:00 PM
Oh wow, that's awesome! I absolutely love it! The pins are really awesome, I'd totally wear a pin like that all the time if I had one.

I just read through this whole thread and I am shocked at how this guy has treated you! Those bags were NOTHING like the inspiration bag, he lied to you, and he just seemed so incredibly rude.

I hope you get the refund situation with Paypal sorted out soon! Smiley
