21  Re: And Still More Teesha Moore Inspired Patches Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Craftsunderground on: June 26, 2013 04:24:58 PM
I received my lovely patches from Ayanared. There are so many things to love about these patches. From the colors, to the stitches, to the composition. She chose my themes of Tiny Houses and Birds. They are so different and yet so me.

I love this string of tiny houses and I will get to that house charm later.

Isn't this one so peaceful?

And she added these tiny hearts to each one. What a nice touch. Ayanared included this charm and here you can see that it OPENS and in furnished. She said she hoped I would enjoy it--well I guess I do Grin. My own tiny house!

Thanks for making these patches for me, They are lovely.

Wise One will forever be known as a spoiler for sending such awesome packages on this swap. Mine is no exception. She added a few extras as a thank you for organizing this swap since she begged asked so nicely and waited so patiently for me to get it together.

Here is a group shot of the patches. Can you see the owl's nest? She tied each "twig" separately. So cute! Wise One and I share a love of owls and we have both gone one owl watches at night.
I love the rainbow button patch too. This is my first rainbow patch.
I think the narrow buttoned patch would make a cool cuff bracelet. I am going to give that a try and will post pics of it later.

Wise One included a baggie of charms in such a great variety of fabrics. I can't wait to make some of them into patches.
And she included a scrappy package to make the strap of a bag. I am definitely making a bag as my first project. I am going to attach the strap with carabiners, just like Wise did on hers.

Make sure you check this one out; a patch making kit with a hand painted tree on a music background for the patch and lots of buttons for the leaves. Wise even included embroidery floss. What a great idea. Wouldn't this be a great swap idea. One partner chooses the fabrics and embellishments and the second partner creates the patch and returns it. What do you think?

Thanks Wise One for such a creative, generous package.

25  Re: Novelty Fat Quarter Swap Round 2 Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Craftsunderground on: March 17, 2013 07:09:00 AM
I received my fabrics from DaisyTattoos and she did a great job of picking out something for everyone. She didn't say, but I think the vintage sewing accessories was from my list. I love it and can't wait to use it. I especially like that it is in black and white. Also lovely are the foxes and owls, you can't go wrong with them. She was especially good to our group because she sent a 5th FQ. Not necessary, but so much appreciated. She included two fun novelty prints that are especially great for boys (a special request on our questionniares) sharks and bugs!

And here they are, already wrapped on their boards and ready to slip into my FQ bins. I wrap my FQs on comic book boards cut down to 4x5 and stored in upcycled CD trays from IKEA.

Thanks DaisyTattoos for some great fabric.
Also, I just took another look at the gallery with just images--talk about eye candy!

26  Re: Steampunk for the Home 2013 in The Swap Gallery by Craftsunderground on: February 24, 2013 05:39:31 PM
I hope Libertine49 won't mind if I add some explanation to her photos.
My idea was to Steampunk her bathroom, but the items can be used in other parts of the house. The Monopoly box is a little gift box. I usually make them from playing cards, which are more durable. Instructions on how to make the boxes was the first thing I saw on UTube. I think a 9-year-old did the tutorial;D Grin

The clock faces are magnets; they are wooden disks edged with copper tape. They were a non-bathroom extra.

The box  with the grill is a wooden tissue box. Each side is different. I just happen to have pictures.

The octopus clock is about 12 inches wide.

I am curious, can you tell me what the pipe things are, Wulf? I can't take credit for the idea, I saw it somewhere. I couldn't find good-looking pipe fittings until I came across these at a thrift store.

I was so delighted when I opened the package from Libertine49. She sent me something for every room in the house. I don't know how she managed to fit it all into the box.
The first thing I saw was this lovely distressed copper switchplate.

Then, elegant tile coasters. Do I need coasters? I am still using poinsettia coasters from last Christmas, so yeah, I need coasters.

then, THREE pretty bowls with old timey images of a pocket watch, nature cloche, and a clock face.

I am going to keep one with my jewelry to hold those tiny earring nuts. I will probably bring one to work to hold paperclips on my desk (yes, I do still use paper.) Not sure where the other will find a home, but quite possibly my craft desk.

For the kitchen she covered a recipe box with Steampunk themed papers and a very cute metal label holder. She also included a journal decorated with hot air balloons.

But, wait, there's more.
Aren't these the coolest curtain tie-backs. She also included the screws to mount on the wall.

But, wait, there's more.
I said there was something for every room in the house, but this one is going to my office at work so that I can enjoy it where I spend most of my time.

I just love this typewriter. It's mounted on typewriter key themed paper that is in low relief and has a slightly distressed silver toned frame. I just love it.
And this really surprised me, hiding at the very bottom of the box, my very own mug rug with a sillohuette wearing a top hat. this might have to go to work too, so that I can show it off.

Libertine49, you sent an amazing package. Thank you so much. I will now have Steampunk goodness all through my house.

29  Re: Novelty Fat Quarter Swap Round 2 Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Craftsunderground on: February 17, 2013 07:15:56 PM
Such a happy mail box, stuffed with fat quarters from two partners.

First up are the Littlehajerika. She said the spools quarter was selected for me and I was immediately drawn to it. The birds were also from list. The foxes (my daughter wants to know what I am going to make from that one. Could she be hinting that I make something for her? I think so.) and the crabs are both just so cute. Thanks for swapping with me.

My second package was from Erica_tatoos.
She was a spoiler, sending five fat quarters. It's a lovely collection of styles and colors. I love the crafty one from my my list--tomato pin cushions and thimbles--how cute. The birds are also from my list--love the colors and sillouhuette style of this one. The Nevermore fabric also fits my list--it's got the Steampunk look. On a totally different note--a whimsical mermaid and octopus print. The tree fabric is so unusual--I love the colors and the style. It is something I never would have chosen for myself, but I am already thinking of how I can use it.

Thanks so much for swapping with me.

30  Re: Givers & Needers Round 11 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Craftsunderground on: February 13, 2013 05:54:52 PM
I received a lovely thank you gift from Lo{ve}. I sent her baking supplies and I hope she can put them to good use, since I certainly wasn't able to. She asked me what I might like and I suggested a mug cozy. She made me two (really three because one is reversible.) They are both so cute! The first is a crocheted mug cozy and the second fits a take-out coffee cup. My teenaged son has confiscated the mug cozy. It is so hard for me to craft items that he will like, who would have thought!

It's reversible!

Thank you Lo{ve}, they are so beautifully made and so perfect for me (and my son.)
