1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for Pattern Help Please :) on: October 21, 2013 08:38:38 AM
HI fellow crafty people  Cheesy  I am looking to make a pixel quilt for my brother.  I usually use perler bead or cross stitch patterns (or any other pattern that can be easily translated into pixel-ish form) to mock up a pattern for a pixel quilt, but am having trouble finding what I need this time.  So I thought I'd ask here and hope for some magic Smiley

I need a pixel/cross stitch/whatever pattern/picture of a Lego Army guy.  This would become the focus of my quilt.  Any ideas or help would be appreciated greatly!
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Nyan Cat vs. Waffle Cat Pixel Quilt on: November 19, 2012 05:39:08 PM

So this is my first time posting one of my quilting projects here, mostly because I give most of my projects away without taking pictures of them!  But this quilt ended up taking so much time and becoming somewhat epic in my house that I knew it needed to be shared, along with the story of how it came to be at all.

So for his birthday over the summer, I made my husband these wallhangings.

He liked them, and almost immediately started talking about wanting a Nyan can wallhanging as well.  So I got my supplies and made found a good pixel picture, then used a program called KG - Chart LE for Cross Stitch to make up a pattern.  Got started thinking I would just make a Nyan cat, but somehow I didn't figure the actual size of this project as I started lol  So by the time I had Nyan cat mostly put together, I realized it would be a freaking massive wallhanging!  Like almost 70 inches long, which is ridiculous of course.  So I decided to make up a pattern for his nemesis Waffle cat and make it into a big quilt instead!

All told, it's made up of 3025 1 1/2 inch squares and by the end I was about ready to stab someone if I had to sew any more little squares together lol.  But the husband is very proud of his new blanket, our cat loves it, and I am epically proud of my work.

Hope you enjoy, and comments would be welcomed Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Is there a 12 Days of Chrismas swap this year? on: August 20, 2011 05:02:46 PM
Is there someone organizing a 12 days of Christmas swap this year?  There's probably already a topic for it somewhere, but I couldn't find it and was wondering when it might get started.  Thanks!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Suggestions for A Crafty Present on: June 14, 2010 01:18:47 PM
So I'm three classes away from finishing my degree in Human Services.  My husband has told me that he plans to buy me a graduation present, something in the crafting venue.  My main crafts are crochet and my new found love for quilting which I've really just gotten into.  I need an idea for something kinda big, like not just yarn or fabrics lol  Any suggestions would be helpful!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Cake Treasure Boxes Extravaganza! Pic Overloaded lol on: March 23, 2009 05:14:15 PM
So I've been making lots of these crochet cake treasure boxes lately, most for swaps, and I'm uber proud of them so I thought I'd post them in their own thread lol  So here they are!

First, a Strawberry Cheesecake treasure box that I make for a personal swap with DesignVigilante, based on her idea Smiley  It was pretty big lol  Like the size of a very large real cheesecake!

Next, a Hostess cupcake treasure box that I also made for DesignVigilante.  It's pretty small, though I don't know the exact measurements since I sent it off already lol

Second, a Peep into Spring cheesecake box.  I might keep this one just for me lol

Oh and what's this?  An added bonus surprise???

Yay!  Bubbles!

Last, the first cake box I made, and Oreo Cookie cake box that I made for sushiluvzombie in the Chocoholics Swap.  It was a big one also, probably the size of an actual big cake lol

As you can probably tell, I'm having lots of fun making these!  It's like my new favorite thing!  I've got a couple more ideas in the works, and I'm always looking for new ideas and inspiration.  Also, I really enjoyed making the ones for the personal swap!  Feedback and new ideas are always welcome!  Thanks!
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Candy/Sweets Swap Round 2? You know you wanna :) on: December 11, 2008 05:34:41 PM
So I was looking through past galleries and found one for a Candy/Sweets Swap, and I think we should do another one!  Think any kind of craft you can imagine inspired by chocolate, lollipops, cakes, pies, cupcakes, all things sweet and awesome!  I can't organize yet, so we'd need to find someone lovely and willing to do so!  Anyone up for it?  I was thinking it could start after the new year so we have time to get past all the stuff with Christmas?

Here's the link to the previous gallery.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gingerbread Chrismas Deco Set - Image Obese! on: December 02, 2008 01:26:50 PM
Hi all!  I've just started playing around with sewing projects, and decided I needed to make an entire Christmas deco set in my fave holiday theme, gingerbread!  I mostly used patterns, with minor adjustments for what I like.  Also, I handstitched everything, so it took forever lol  So here they are, let me know what you think!

Ornaments all together

Gingerbread Lady

Gingerbread Man

Gingerbread House, which I think is about my fave ornament.

Both stockings

Close up of stocking bows.

Tree skirt, which really started it all because I couldn't find a gingerbread tree skirt I liked to just buy lol

Closeup of tree skirt.

Tree topper

And finally, little mini gingerbread guys.  I think they look like they're up to something tricky lol  Therefore, I'm including them in pretty much everything I send or give this year, either as little ornaments or just tied onto things lol
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Candy Corn-tastic Bag on: October 08, 2008 02:14:08 PM
So, I got this somewhat random need to have a candy corn shaped purse.  I couldn't find one to buy, nor a pattern that I liked, so I made one up on my own lol  It's my first purse (and my first posted project) but I really love it!
