1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: vintagesewing.info is no more??! on: March 15, 2009 03:58:32 PM
Oh thank goodness!  Thanks for the wonderful news deliax - for a moment there I was afraid this site had forever vanished from the 'net  Smiley
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / vintagesewing.info is no more??! on: March 13, 2009 05:21:17 PM
Hi everyone, I apologize if this is in the wrong section.  Last night I went to go look something up on vintagesewing.info and I was redirected to the Go Daddy website/hub.  The weird thing is that I'd been by the website a couple of days before and everything seemed fine.  Does anyone know exactly when the site went down, or why?  Right now the site is still accessible through the Wayback Machine (www.archive.org), but I don't know how long that will work.  It makes me sad that such an incredible resource (probably one of the best sewing-related sites on the 'net) may be gone forever...  Cry

Definitely! With a black pencil skirt!

^This.  It would be absolutely breathtaking with a little pencil skirt.  You did an amazing job on this (and you did it so quickly too!) - it looks beautiful, and that fabric is pure love.

Really pretty  Smiley I love that fabric - it's such a lush shade of green...I can totally see why he calls you 'Gaia'  Cheesy
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: is a dress still a dress if it's made of wood? on: November 16, 2008 01:49:20 PM
Okay, so the thread title intrigued/confused me, but then when I clicked on the link that pic made me instantly go  Shocked  And then the whole business with the curtsy...

This, hands down, has to be one of, if not *the* most original dresses I've ever seen.  You win at Craftster and the Internet.  Forever.   Cheesy

All I could do when the page loaded was just say 'Wow!' over and over again.  Everything about this - from the colours, to the fit, to that gorgeous criss-cross detail - is absolutely stunning.  You did an *amazing* job on this!
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Pac-man quilt! (With a difference!) on: October 09, 2008 02:16:23 PM
 Shocked

My mouth is literally hanging open.  When I saw this on the front page I was blown away just from the screenshot, so when I opened the topic and saw not only how detailed it was, but the fact that the pieces are movable (!!)...yeah.  MAJOR respect.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Robots attack hoodie! on: October 06, 2008 09:48:16 PM
Okay, I have to admit that I squee'd a little...this is SO CUTE!  I saw the arms sticking out of the pockets and was loving it, but when I scrolled down and saw the robot I instantly went into OMIGOSHWANTITNOW mode.  Not only is the idea creative, but the whole thing is beautifully made - amazing first-time attempt at applique and embroidery!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Rusty Ruffles Babydoll Dress on: October 06, 2008 09:43:59 PM
An absolutely gorgeous, classy, feminine dress!  I love the colour, and the ruffles are really beautiful....this dress is empirical proof that ruffles do in fact make everything better  Grin
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Skeleton Skirt made with no pattern, totally freehand (img heavy) on: October 06, 2008 09:36:35 PM
First off: Best.  Fabric.  Ever.  I like the little details like the pleats and the contrasty bands of colour - great job, and double-kudos since you free-handed it!
