1  Re: Felt Badge Round 2 Gallery!! (Send Out July 9) in The Swap Gallery by justaddcats on: July 15, 2012 03:21:36 PM
LOVE both of those Snape badges!  The work in this gallery continually impresses me! I've had to show them of to my non-crafster friends Smiley

I'm not sure if the HP badges I sent to nostephot ever made it into the gallery. I made her "merit badges" to be earned by destroying horcruxes.

Let me tell you all how lucky I am- I received TWO more badges from nostephot!

Both attest to our mutual love for Harry Potter.

The awesome Quidditch badge on the left looks so official I want to sew it onto my team robes immediately! (If only I had Quidditch team robes...) And the fantastic sorting hat on the left has a perfectly knowing wise, wrinkled face.  I love them both!

I REALLY lucked out this swap- thanks, nostephot! And a big thanks to our excellent organizers too!  Grin

I received!

My talented partner stitched the cutest badger badge for me! He is already hanging in a place of honor just above my computer so he can watch me do my homework Smiley

Thanks, nostephot!

4  Re: OTT October Holidays Edition 3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by justaddcats on: October 27, 2011 11:51:36 AM

meowari sent me this a-mazing little guy! How did she manage to get so much detail, expression, and texture into OTT? I have no idea, but I'm betting on magic.

I'm calling him Sparkle Kitty at the moment-- as I seem to be extraordinarily uncreative with names lately, I'm open to suggestions.  Here he is on my inspiration board behind my desk where I can look at him whenever I should be on the computer doing schoolwork Smiley

And here's a better view of the detail. Do you SEE those leaves? And the bow-tie? LOVE.

Thank you SO much, meowari! You're a terrific swap partner! And many thanks to irid3s3nt for organizing such a fun swap!

So Craftster photo hosting is seriously trying to give me a headache, but I shall overcome because I must share the wealth that is my package from Miss Barbara!
I will try not to overwhelm you with photos, but there is a LOT of goodies to show off!
And so, in no particular order:
"M" is for mug rug and mug cozy. A perfect fit on my new University of Minnesota mug!

Hard- a huge assortment of buttons and squished pennies (which I collect!) from the American Museum of Natural History and Hershey Park.  Little does my partner know I grew up in New Jersey and have fond memories of both of these spots!

Green- arm warmers AND leg warmers! Love the stripes!

Sender's choice- some lovely purple cotton yarn (so soft!) and some deep purpley-blue roving in case I ever get brave enough to try spinning again. The color is gorgeous! Miss Barbara, do you know what the fiber is?

AND... Crafster Photo Hosting has given my 4 copies of each of those pictures... and eaten the other categories I've tried to upload. Grr.... I'll give you the description now and try again later...

Local- postcards from Long Island, and shells from her favorite beach- how sweet!
Recycled- A yarn holder contraption made out of a soda bottle--really original! A Mesa bag from recycled yarn (this might be "M" too)--I will need to get these photos up because you will not believe the amazing detail and hard work that Miss Barbara put into this.
Dotted- a cute orange drawstring pouch lined with fun dotted fabric. Plus some extra drawstring fabric with cherries--I don't think Miss Barbara knows it's one of my favorite prints!

Then there were a LOAD of extras! Peppermint tea (yum!) fabrics, jewelry makings, ribbon, and even a bit of sweets Smiley

Miss Barbara is so thoughtful, she even included a hand-drawn monster from her daughter Smiley

This is an amazing package! Miss Barbara really put a lot of thought into it! THANK YOU!!

Oh, and this was too funny... I was hoping for armwarmers because the only pair I have were the first thing I ever knit and are definitely sporting some holes, loops, and other funky spots.  I didn't tell Miss Barbara about them, but look at this:

What are the chances?  I'm not even a Slytherin!  Grin

6  Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Gallery (SO 4/18/11) in The Swap Gallery by justaddcats on: April 14, 2011 02:20:08 PM
Greetings fellow FQ fans!
I am here to report that I received my package from LimeRiot today and let me tell you- she is not just a fabulous organizer, she is a supertalented sewer too!

I mentioned in my questionnaire that one of the things I would like were pouches for my double-pointed needles. And oh, my... they are SO AMAZING!

The fabrics couldn't be more perfect!! Can I ask what it is/where you found it? And the stitching and stamping details really make them special!

And here are the FQs she sent... WOW! They aren't prints I would've picked for myself, so I am SO glad I received them because they're bright and bold and wonderful!

Finally, the most clever use of "scraps"... accents on these classy stitched cards!!

They are in clear plastic, so the photo is a little blurry, but trust me, these rock!

Thank you SO much, LimeRiot! Both for organizing and this FAB FQ package!!

7  Re: Mug Rug Swap Gallery! (SendOut Feb 22) in The Swap Gallery by justaddcats on: March 06, 2011 04:52:37 PM
After going multiple rounds fighting with my computer and Craftster photo hosting, I can finally present to you the awesome mug rug Fontiua sent me (some time ago now!) I've been enjoying using it daily!

If only my living room wasn't such a mess, you'd see how perfectly it matches my red couch and black woven rug!  The polka dots are so perfect for me!
Weird angle, tall mug, but action shot nonetheless:

Thanks again, I really love it! and SO many other rugs in this swap! Great work, everyone!

8  Re: Mug Rug Swap (SignUp CLOSED, SendOut Feb 21 2011) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by justaddcats on: February 09, 2011 07:51:09 PM
Checking in! I finished my practice rug over the weekend and my computer is soooo slow it took me this long to post it.  Okay, maybe not, but it feels like it! So there are a couple of wonky spots, but I learned a lot in the process.  And I tested it out with a mug of cocoa tonight and it worked just fine Wink

I've got all the fabric for my partner's rug and some of it is cut, but I keep changing my mind on the design... Hmm...

What a talented Craftster! Those bird in tree pictures are gorgeous!

I was also lucky enough to receive some lovely artwork from bkrenning this weekend! I'm having a hard time getting a good picture of it, but I will post when I do! Here it goes! (Feel free to add if you've got a better pic, bkrenning!)

My tree makes me happy Smiley can't wait to find the right frame for it!

I came back from my holiday travels to find a LOVELY birthday package from DizzerSpinninRound! Smiley

She had claimed me for knitted slippers, so I was a little confused when I opened the package to find these cute little purple pouches (and delicious smelling teas!):

Until I realized I could put my feet in them!

Now my tootsies have never been more toasty! (Or elf-like! Wink) And the buttons are adorable- did you make them yourself?

Thanks for such a comforting birthday package, Dizzer, I love it! Just today the weather has gotten cold enough to really appreciate it  Grin
