1  I know cats like boxes, but spots? in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by sugarglass on: October 23, 2009 03:58:56 PM
this is spot:

he's part parrot, dog, cat, monkey, goat, cow, human and zebra
now, i know cats like boxes very much, but do certain dogs named spot?

(then again he is part cat)
ever since he was a little puppy, spot loved being squished up-or as i call it "the transformation from spot to.... SUPER FLUFFBALL (to the rescue)
eventually he learned the word "in" if he senses we are going somewhere, he'll prance into his room without any instruction, but if we say in, he'll run into his room and in his cage, his tail wagging happily.
In also means to go into anything, and if you point at a box and say in, he'll jump in, no matter what. he attempted to jump int a tiny shoebox, and wouldn't let anything stop him so the box broke.. he even tried to jump into a flowerpot once. Just a day ago, my brother had the laundry basket for taking clean clothes upstairs quite full, and he said in to spot as a joke, and spot bounced into the basket, not minding a thing..

anyhoo..i was at home Tuesday, sick, and we had several boxes left over from the slow cooker we won for free and the new microwave (ermm.. the old one suddenly died, while making lunch..) so i made spot a castle because spot loves boxes.. now, the odd thing, is that he realized that he had a door thingy right away, i though that i would need to teach him to go through the passage instad of jumping in from the top like he usually does
in these photos it has a flap on the door that i removed yesterday due to it annoying him.. (also he doesn't chew on the box, which is weird cuz he loves cardboard!)

he sat there the whole time waiting for me to finish

see? he knows to come in that way!

it has an adjustable roof cuz while he lays there someone usually opens the roof and pets him

C&C welcome

2  Re: Halloween Costume-A-Long? (2009) in Craftalongs by sugarglass on: October 05, 2009 04:13:22 PM

pardon the fact i look fat i had to bend funny to take a good picture while showing costume but not my face!

and a tutu (light pink) will be on top with sme ribbon tied around my waist as stripes

reason for no full costume (not face-up) picture is that right when i needed it the ribbon dissapeared in my bed.. i found it at 3 am will i went to drink some water...
so... just my luck turns out that this year, where i am for girls my age its pixies. basically anything as long as you have a tutu and wings. there are neon pixies, evil pixies, cheerleader pixies, bat pixies and this one girl is a zombie spider pixie..

oh well! i love my costume

here are the things
ignore the scrunchie around the ears

and in case my hair poofs up to much or it starts raining i made this scrunchie out of purple fur yarn

and  i made this temporary tattoo to keep me motivated

(i can show a tute for temporary tattoos if you want)(its on my belly the picture makes it look as though its on my but or something)

here's the sad part.. i was knitting in front of the tv and i got up for a minute to put my cup on the kitchen table, leaving my knitting on the coffee table for 30 seconds. i cam back to my yarn dragged all around the house. in a million huge knots. after 2 and a half hours i managed to save most of it. but there was still a lot that i couldn'r fix. and i had to cut of my knitting right at the begininng.
2 and a half hours.

i killed it.... i tried various amounts of stuffing.. i used gluestick for eyelids(it actually works the best evr)
i'll try another one in a few minutes.. i need to relax and what better than crafting
though i am really proud of the eyes- first time with lids and lashes...
here is a picture

very blurry i think the problem is the eyelashes are not attached strongly enough.. but i have no other glue. ideas?
and here is a picture of supplies except fabric for poppeting

yeah, i mean, if its the first time you DD will play with anything you made, then i am sure your mom will understand, you could always make her another poppet
i fixed it.... but here it is again

meanwhile, while i am still out of poppeting, i am quitely planning (mwah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha *pant pant* ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha) a (F)BUJI
what is a buji you ask?
the BU stands for button, the J for jointed and the I for imbecile whatever you wish and the f is occasionally added and stands for fabric
its a doll with joints in knees elbows shoulders and hips
another thingy, i figured out how to make an eye look like a human eye in dolls (not sticking out so much, but more sunk in)
just need to run a few prototypes....
she'll have a roving wig like this:

and i'll lightly sculpt her to give a similar shape, and i'll paint her in traditional bjd style, with the added lashes though...... my question is.....
should i make her skinny like above pic or chubby:

long post (mwa ha ha ha hah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha *pant pant pant* ha ha ha *pant pant* ha ha ha ha ha ha )

i found this and figured it might be helpful-you'll probably need to resize it though..

and i have a good roving wig pattern... its still in testing though.

10  gummy bears are secretly murderous (don't worry, not scary!) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by sugarglass on: September 04, 2009 03:24:00 PM
some pictures i took yesterday.... first time with the black photo fabric thing, hard to focus on it! i was playing with the spotlight and focus. i used a board as the floor, and a free really strong flashlight for the spotlight.
enjoy! (c&c welcome)

these show the common war between popular foods: skittles vs. gummy bears
same photo, different colors, angles and focus
all called Smashed!

^ my brother really likes that one, because of the colors and rule of thirds-he takes photography Wink

and this is what happens 5 seconds after the photo:

and my favorite one in the series:

ok, enough of the mushy stuff, attack!

something went wrong...
