1  Kangaroo, Rabbits and Doe for Coffee & Waffles (+ Heavy Metal Rabbit!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by novastarlet on: January 14, 2008 04:55:59 AM
I haven't been able to do any crafting because of school. So when winter holidays came around I really got to work. Here are four little guys I made during the break. All are from Japanese craftbooks.

I also made this little guy -- although somewhat earlier.

Check out my Flickr page for more close-ups of the stuffies. It also has the ISBN for the book that each stuffie came from on another group shot.

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

2  Adult Costume: Devo! in Halloween Costumes by novastarlet on: November 01, 2007 08:36:48 AM
I made this Devo costume using a 1990's Butterick pattern for NASCAR jumpsuits. It has velcro going all the way up the front closure and an elastic waist. Perfectly comfy for Halloween partying. The letters were cut out of felt and then handstitched on. I'm really thrilled with how it all came out. Smiley

Here's the reference shot. Please note that they aren't wearing the iconic red hats. We got a couple comments about that at the party. Tongue -- (BTW - not hotlinked!)

And here's the copy-cat version

And a close-up. Yeah, we should have thought of other poses. C isn't good with the vogue-ing. Oh well...

And finally, the pattern:

Just in time for Halloween! That card is really cool, cadillac tramp. Cheesy

And here's the last of my cards. Sorry I was so late to post guys. What can I say? Law school bits like a vampire on my social life and free time. Tongue

Fabric card is from Crafty_Dame and Zombie card from snarkalicious:

Thanks so much guys!! Sorry again for the late gallery posting.

4  Kawaii Japanese-style Stuffies -- Rabbit, Monkey and Cat (lotsa pics) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by novastarlet on: October 23, 2007 12:31:39 PM
I made each of these for different rounds of the Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap. I just wanted to show them off all in one thread. The patterns came from a Japanese craft book: ISBN 4-8347-5589-4

Meet Sophie and all her slumber party accessories:

And here is Delia -- another variation on the same pattern:

This is Claude the monkey:

And lastly, here's the one I made for the Halloween round of the swap. I styled her after my real kitty Coco. She's my favorite of the bunch. I had to improvise her head and ears and the costume.

Yay!! I'm so glad that you like her. I was a little worried that you wouldn't be able to figure out how that "hat" fit on. But looks like it came out okay. Smiley

Thanks so much for posting pictures. I just had to add this one though. I used my own black kitty as inspiration. I think you can see a likeness. Cheesy There are also some other shots on flickr that show her without her costume.

Wow, that baby zombie is freakin' cool, ritathepita! I can't believe that brain. hah. Cheesy And a matching ipod cozy? Man, my guy would love that. He's totally obsessed with zombies at the moment.

All the mascots by ashestoashes are super cool too -- but I think I like the witch and the black cat.

AND! I received from loves2experiment and everything is so freakin' awesome! Cheesy

Look at all the goodies she sent me! My stuffie's name is Satoshi and he's dressed up as a ghost for Halloween. How cute. Cheesy There's three little felt pins (two eyes and a spider with web), a drawstring pouch full of great candies, a skull PEZ, Halloween ribbon and a handmade card. Oh, I'm so spoiled.

Here's another shot of Satoshi without his costume on. He doubles as a Chococat impersonator, dontchaknow. Wink

This is such a great package, loves2experiment. Thanks so much for all of it and being a wonderful partner. Cheesy

Yay, so many cool cards. I love the one with the little rats too. Did you draw those by hand?! Nice work.

Here are two cards that I received. The white one is embroidered on felt and made by crystalthepirate. Thanks so much! I love the little skull.

And the rat one is from wildfyre. The picture has mice and jackolanterns. It's so cute! Did you take it yourself?? I can't imagine the mice enjoying being around that fire though... Wink

Yay! My lost card from BonBabbu arrived yesterday too. Cheesy This card is to honor a man who helped her town organize for a strike

Note the kitty paw. I tried to lean the card against him but he just got up -- but then he came back just in time to step into the shot.  Roll Eyes Typical.

9  Re: Sakura to Sakuranbo GALLERY! (cherries and cherry blossoms) in The Swap Gallery by novastarlet on: September 14, 2007 06:23:32 PM
Yay. I received today and I was totally spoiled!! Cheesy LauPre sent me so many amazing things.

This purse is so super cute!! She got this idea for this from my wist (how lucky am I??). Someone had posted a sad panda purse on Craftster. I commented that I would like to see a happy one and wha-la! LauPre came up with this:

She also made a Sashiko pillow with lots of beautiful embroidery (it's going to stay on my bed) and plus Cherry stuffies -- both sweet and sour.

And here is the reverse sides! Smiley

My cat Coda is posing with the rest of the package: a really cute blue clutch on the left, then two beautiful colorings from her daughter, two iron on patches (one of cherries and one with a sakura flower), two pins AND a coaster.

Everything is so fantastic. LauPre sent me so many things -- plus it's so fabulous to receive something from your wist. I feel totally spoiled. Thanks so much! Cheesy

Here's my last postcards from this swap:

Bonbabbu sent me this vintage photo showing an old transportation vehicle. Next to it is a card from TwiztedBlood (we did a personal swap). So cute!

Thank you both. Smiley
