91  Re: Book Lovers Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by raeraethejetplane on: April 19, 2009 07:29:00 AM
Oops! There's more.

She also made me fabric book cover for paperbacks. Her note says that it will fit most mass market and comfort size paperbacks. And the left over scrap fabric was included in the package as well.
Did I mention that she has beautiful handwriting as well? Smiley

First off: Ffrogg526 is AWESOME.

I received my package on Friday! I was uber excited but unable to post until now. Let me know if the pictures show
The box:

The whole package:

I received three books, hand made cards, some store bought cards, stickers, wool roving, a crocheted, stickers, candy, and still more!
There's a notebook with a moon and sun on the cover. I loved it so much I took pictures of all the quotes and images inside.

Either I mentioned it or my partner is a really good stalker. I love art nouveau! There is a picture of Hello Kitty on the back. I love her so! The picture with my finger in it is trying to show you the flap in the inside cover. I don't know if it's intentional or not but I will be using it to slip small things like book covers in it.
A book box with goodies inside.

That would be an amazing crocheted Flying Spaghetti Monster peeking out at you. I mentioned that I have been thinking of registering some how as a follower of His Noodly Appendage.
The beautiful purse I got and am already using.

Not only does it match my hair some it comes in Joker colors...the man I told my parents I vowed to marry way before Heath Ledger(sp?) days.
And the lining to beautiful bag.

H'okay no more photos because I bet you non high speed connectors are shaking their first at me.

Thank you so much for Ffrogg526 for making my first swap a wonderful experience. I'm told I have another package on the way because I was curious about a local soda. I am majorly spoiled!

13. Necklace I made for my sister's birthday. Design and instructions came from Beadmecca.com

14. Beaded bookmark...my sister tried to snake one that belonged to some one else so I made her one.

...And if you couldn't tell my sister really likes pink lol. More formal post in the jewelery boards soon.

94  Re: Show Off Your Hair! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by raeraethejetplane on: February 24, 2009 02:21:11 AM
Ooh a hair forum! I have a  mohawk but prefer to wear it like this:

It's very long..about two inches from my pant waist. I plan to cut it shorter soon because the length makes my hair look limp some times.

95  New pretties! Earrings and bracelets. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by raeraethejetplane on: February 13, 2009 11:28:03 PM
I had to stay home sick today so I amused myself with going through my stash (and being somewhat upset with myself over all the things I have forgotten about).

The left pair is inspired by how the beads were strung when I bought them. I used some less than perfect beads that would otherwise gone unused.
In the center is a pair of earrings that match a choker I made four months ago.
The earrings on the right are jellyfish earrings to go with the octopus bracelet pictured below. I've never made my own bail before...I like the messy look. It feels organic. Smiley

My wire wrapping skills were horrible today. I blame the sickness....or the not making jewelery in months. :p I made the hello kitty bracelet to serve as a "no fuss" project after being frustrated for hours.

I may redo a few because I know I can craft much much better...but for now I will rest my hands

96  Upcycled Pinup Can cuff in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by raeraethejetplane on: February 13, 2009 11:14:25 PM
I went to the 99 cent store with my parents one day and saw this adorable pinup girl on a can of energy drink. I think the brand was Amp.

I could not center the lovely lady without having the nutrition fact displayed obviously on the bracelet.

And I didn't notice that I had marred the eyelet in the process of making this until I saw the photo! Darn

How it fits

The corset style closure

I'm going to change the ribbon soon...this style of ribbon catches easily and becomes puckered once it's threads are pulled. I glued some green felt inside. As long as I wear it somewhat loose the pointy edges don't bother me Smiley

This was inspired by several posts I have seen on craftster a while back. None of them are bookmarked to give them credit. Sorry Sad

98  Squeek - Monster Challenge 09 IMG HEAVY in Felting: Completed Projects by raeraethejetplane on: February 08, 2009 03:45:21 PM

Meet Squeek. Squeek loves to play dress up and has decided that he wants to be the Easter Bunny this year for Halloween. Along with him is his pet Runt who is enjoying the Halloween festivities too! For whatever reason no matter how many houses he goes to Squeek's basket never seems to get heavy or full.

Squeek's left arm has a pipe cleaner skeleton. I made the wire in the fingers too short so he has a little felt tab to help hold up his baskets. You can't tell in the photo but his left ear is bent forward.

Some Details on the Fingers and Toes.

Small details include candy corn (all the way to the left, not well photographed), multicolored jawbreaker, and a white chocolate chip cookie. Also Runt is holding a lollipop if you were wondering what that was.

Squeek stayed like this for a while because I thought he was adorable this way. I added the veins not only to match his original sketch but because it would make him more monster-like.

I got to experiment with lots of things with this project which was the best part. I' got to needle felt one of my drawings that is somewhere in my room collecting dust. I have tried to find it but I don't know where I put it. This is also the first time I have used pipe cleaners or wire of any type in a project. I made the basket by felting them first over a styrofoam form. I don't tend to make things so small so it was very challenging to make all the basket items.

I'm very proud of how this came out and I'm please at how quickly I am progressing with needle felting. Expect to see more of Squeek in the future! I am thinking of doing a miniseries.

99  Re: Introducing my stuff Pic Heavy! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by raeraethejetplane on: January 22, 2009 01:57:58 PM
Thank you! I kept the cable because it was SO pretty. Thankfully I found a use for it. It makes me want to rip apart computers and make more jewelery but I don't know where to get computer scraps in my city.

Here is what it originally came from:

100  Introducing my stuff Pic Heavy! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by raeraethejetplane on: January 22, 2009 01:39:27 PM
I realized last night that even though I roam the boards and post that I've never posted my jewelery here. Maybe it'd push me into making something new.

A bracelet repurposed from an old computer keyboard cable

Second pair of origami earrings after I made my sister a practice pair..

I have pictures of third pair I was commissioned for if you are interested. My first and only commission. ^^

My first beaded necklace

Choker made to wear on my special anniversary trip to Disneyland

There you have it! I started making jewelery around summertime so there is six months progress to view. Though I must admit that even though I am self taught, I come from a family of jewelers so I always have some one to call when I am stuck.
