1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anonymous Stencil. on: February 12, 2009 04:40:15 AM
Hi there! Well.. I was just browsing through and saw your post. Here is something I recently discovered on craftster and am going to try later today. Basicly... make a copy on a xerox machine of the image (do NOT use an inkjet printer) , get a product with a high Xylene content.. laquer thinner.. (i have goof off) , others use wintergreen oil..you can see in the origonal post all the things you can use... put the image face down (make sure to flip the image on the copy machine so the letters will come out right on the shirt), spread out some xylene on the back and rub it onto the shirt with the back of a spoon! That's it! Here is the org. link.

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OTT 20 Swap Gallery on: February 12, 2009 04:30:11 AM
Here is the OTT I made for CraftyMcCrafterson, she didn't have access to a camera so I'm posting pics for her that I took before I sent Smiley It's a keychain but the pieces can easily be removed to be magnets or pendants Smiley I chose her Strawberry theme (if you couldn't tell) and freehand drew the strawberry with her name on it Smiley What do you think?

Here it is an "I Spy Bag" from CraftyMcCrafterson! For those of you who don't know what it is.. (I didn't until a few weeks ago). It's a rice filled bag with little knick-knacks placed inside and you try to find the different items. It's nice for little ones and long car trips! Thanks so much, it's great!

What a cute idea! I am getting ready to start potty training my little guy and am shocked at how expensive it is for a 3 pack of undies! I found some sites online for free undies patterns and am planning on making him some.. this would be very cute to add a little fun to them! I was going to do a few appliques, and I have some crayola fabric markers I've used on bibs before, I bet they would work great! SOmething else I was thinking of is... you could make a copy of the page from the book so that you wouldn't have the image from the other side coming through too.. just to make it a bit easier.. or trace the image with a sharpie onto a plain white piece of paper then trace onto the undies if you don't have access to a copier Smiley Great job!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Making a binky-leash/pacifier clip on: February 04, 2009 09:49:41 AM
Oh! And I also forgot to tell you! ..... ironing board cover clips! ...you know.. those little elastic strips with the clips on the end to hold the cover on securely... they have suspender clips on them! And best of all... they usually have 3 or 4 straps in a pack.. which means... 6 or 8 clippies! Some dollar store sell these... check it out! Smiley Good luck!

I've actually make and have sold some.. and I was also in your position! Here is what I found out!

#1 the little plastic clips that you have the link too... for me...didn't hold or work much at all!
2 - They sell "suspender clips" at joann fabrics on the notions wall for $1.49 for two of them I think.. they work but don't have the pvc insert so it won't rip clothing and they don't hold as securely.
3- I ordered mine from...
However... the shipping cost is a minimum f $9... and although they have tons of cute fun clips listed... they only have 2 types in stock. They are good quality... but expensive if you add the shipping!
4- check ebay, there are some people that sell them on there.
5 - check the thrift store! Look at different suspenders and items that have those clips and take them off there to use (after buying it of course! ) hehe.

Hope this helps!

EEEEEeeeeeeee!  Swoon!  I love the chest hair!  You really captured that photo (except the stuffing in the pants is more PG than the original - ahem).

LOL... EWWWW, hahaha... I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out.. and of course.. I had to go back and look! Haha...Yuck yuck yuck.
8  Ohio / Ohio: Northeast / Re: Any Akronites? on: February 01, 2009 09:31:06 PM
Hey Everyone!

So... I want to meet other local crafters! I am the only crafty person I know and am in search of crafty friends Smiley I'm in the Akron area and would love to have a meet, greet, and treat or something! Anyone else interested in something like this? We could all get together and craft or take turns teaching how to make different crafts.. or whatever. I think this could be fun and am pretty sure I know of a place we could all get together without overwhelming someones home! What do you think? PM Me and let me know! Hope to hear from you soon!
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: I'm so confused...Scrabble Tiles and Shrinky Dinks on: February 01, 2009 08:40:15 PM
Hey! Thanks for the responses so far! I have some clear acrylic spray already... I'll have t try it out Smiley Also.. I live in Ohio.. I lives in Florida for a couple years and am going back in March for a vacation... does Roses dept. store have a website? I've been looking online.. but no luck so far! We have a HUGE asian market in Cleveland.. but that's an hour away and would hate to drive so far and not have the tiles. I'd call.. but they don't speak english! heh... it's fun shopping there Smiley
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Dress made from plastic shopping bags on: January 28, 2009 08:27:29 AM
Hahaha, how cute! Your daughter is adorable! I love the idea about bibs for spaghetti night  Grin Maybe I am the only slow one here... but how to you melt the bags together with the iron? Did you use some type of fabric to put between the iron and plastic or what and what did you iron it on so it won't melt onto the ironing board? I'm confuzzled  Huh
