721  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: French Beaded Flower Headbands on: September 26, 2008 10:45:32 AM

I'm planning to make some decorated headbands for my daughter for christmas.  Do you glue the ribbons down or just wrap it?

I used a little hot glue gun every 4 inches or so (on the bottom, not the top!) just so that if I I loosened my grip or accidently let go, I wouldn't mess up the entire thing. It took me at least 30 minutes to wrap each of these. It's harder than I thought it would be to wrap it without any flaws!

What about if you do a connected 3 strand bracelet with the button on the middle strand so that the other two strands kinda hold the button up? See what I'm saying?

PS I'm not a jewelry person, so I'm sorry if I'm not using the right terms. Tongue

If you have tons of small seed beads and some wire, you could make french beaded flowers!

I don't have specific names for my creations. It's just stuff like "Gold Rose" when I make a gold rose, but then again, my stuff is not as abstract as jewelry pieces, since I make french beaded flowers. Tongue

My sister got me a gift certificate to FMG for my birthday, and that was my first experience with them. However, I was really pleased! I only had to pay a flat rate of $5 for shipping, and I loved that I got a discount for buying a bunch of items (rates go down on each piece when you buy 15 items total, not just of one item). I'm definitely ordering from them again. Oh, and I too loved the catalogue!

Hi everybody,
I'm brand spanking new to the site, but I'm really excited about it. I do french beaded flowers and will be doing my first craft show in a few months. I'm trying out some new stuff and would love some feedback. These are headbands with french beaded flowers (and various other little things) wrapped in some pretty ribbon. What do you think?

Let me know if this is the wrong forum or something. Would french beaded flowers go in "jewelry and trinkets?" Thanks!

Totally cute! I think I like the 2nd one the best, actually.

This is gorgeous, and I also agree that the colors are nicer than the original ones. I also don't think it needs eyes. I would leave it just like this. Smiley Wonderful work!
