1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dead Doll #3- My tribute to Take Warning Radio on: December 10, 2008 12:05:44 PM

Now presenting Dead Doll #3, my tribute to my favourite unknown radio network, Take Warning Radio. With a side-show circus theme, TWR has 9 different shows ranging from punk to hip-hop all under the 'big top' network known as Thee Sound of Circus.

I have used a record to display all 9 show logos and and have a ringmaster to introduce the show! The record is outlined in clear twinkle lights to appeal to the circus theme.

The ringmaster: host of TWR- all clothes hand-made (bow tie and braces as well) by moi and skeleton is posable, bought at the Dollar store for, you guessed it, $1

The wheel of TWR shows: the main event, tempo tandrum, the midway, pierced heart, dreadbox, scratching post, lost&found, Becky likes you, duck pond

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dead Doll #2- Barbed Wire Love on: October 06, 2008 09:09:00 AM
I am proud to introduce Dead Doll #2- Barbed Wire Love. She is named after one of my favourite songs (with the same name) by a punk band called Stiff Little Fingers. She took about 4 months to complete. She is strait-jacketed with medical gauze, her hair ribbons are made of ribbon and singed with a lighter. She was painted with a white/purple base for skin and has many cuts and scars.

She is missing her right eye. I built the eye prosthetic in 3 stages and then painted with multiple shades of red, black and, gray.

Barbed Wire Love in her fixed state. Over 50 meters of 24 gauge wire was used to construct her isolation, all hand-made by moi. I got some cuts myself so she also has some of my blood on her!

The ever-longed for teddy. This teddy originally had a British flag embroidered in the chest but I ripped it out and re-sewed it to make it slightly more worn.

I posed her to be facing the teddy, and although she can only see with one eye, she really wishes she could hold him.

Me with my finished creation. Although it took me a lot longer to make her than what I originally had in mind, I love how she turned out!

Comments and feedback are always appreciated! Thanks for looking Grin
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Dead Doll Creation #1: Bride to Be----Dead on: September 25, 2008 08:30:36 AM
Hey fellow Craftsters!  I just started making my Dead Dolls early this summer and finished my first one in June.  I am currently working on a second Dead Doll which should be finished by this weekend.  Here are some pcitures of my first creation, Bride to Be----Dead.  I'll be posting pics of my second creation soon.  Lemme know what you think!  Comments and critques welcome!

So all is made by me except for the Barbie bought at a Dollar Store for $1. Soil is the real stuff I plucked from the road side. Moss was bought at the Dollar Store. Her eyes are rhinestones I plucked out of an old pin I had lying around.  It's hard to see, but the bouquet of flowers is made out of ribbon and I used hot glue strands to cover it in cob webs.

Me and my finished creation.  She took about a month and a half to complete.
