1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / GERMINATE! GERMINATE! GERMINATE! on: May 06, 2012 07:40:40 PM
It all started with a joke the boyfriend told me that I can't remember any more... something about Daleks yelling at plants to GERMINATE! But anyway... that's when I decided I needed a dalek planter to add to my houseplant shelf. The inspiration is here http://www.redbubble.com/people/solentchris/works/6016133-ex-germinate-the-dalek-flower-pot

Here's the final product!

It was actually pretty easy and I finished him (not including painting) in a day. He's made out of a big brick of white ploymer clay, sculpted around a terra cotta pot with a hole drilled in the bottom.

You can see the pot here. The bottom was glued on and painted after the clay was all cooked.

I had initially made the head like this:

But it broke in the oven! The good thing is that I liked it better after I pieced it back together and made some changes.

New and improved head:

And here he is protecting all his plant friends!

Let me know what you think! I really liked working with polymer clay. This was my first try, so any tips would be awesome! Thanks for looking Smiley
